Days 363-365 on the Journey!!

Monday, July 07, 2014

Hey Sparkies,

The past few days haven't been great but they haven't been terrible either. I had a few or maybe many missteps on the eating front but I really got back on track with my workouts. I have now done all 4 of the videos that will make up the Gamma Phase of Focus T25. They are Speed 3.0- THE WORST one, Rip'T Up- relatively easy, Extreme Circuit- easy but a little harder than Rip't Up and the Pyramid- still easy but harder than the rest. Now when I say these workouts are "easy" no qualms about it they're intense but I classify them as easy because they don't have as much jumping around as former videos so you have less of that out of breath, "I feel like I wanna die" feeling.

I know for a fact that I'll be building muscles with these videos but a part of me is wondering if I'll still be burning enough calories for a substantial fat loss? It's not as if I can change anything anyway becaue there's no way I can do added cardio in the next 3 weeks because my work hours have been exetended because of some conferences that the office is hosting. Instead of working from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m I'll be working from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. so I'll just have to stick with my 25 minutes and see what happens.

In other news my DH chose to find inspiration in the funniest thing on Saturday night. We were watching Cast Away and he realized that Tom Hanks had to lose weight while filming to show the weight loss of the character on the island and so he reasoned that if Tom Hanks could just lose weight for that role he can do it too. It's weird I know but I definitely won't argue with this new-found motivation. Not only that but we decided on a bet last night. We are going to compete for 2 months to see who can make more progress. We'll take measurements every week and a winner will be determined from those measurements every week and the person who has won the most weeks in the 2 months wins the bet. Now my competetive nature REALLY wants to kick his butt but I honestly just want to see him get dedicated to this sooooo bad that I don't care if I lose (he doesn't know that of course emoticon )

So yep I've received new motivation to BE FOCUSED!!! I've got to get my eating under control and I have to keep consistent with my workouts. I'm am going to GO HARD with this challenge because as much as I may want him to win, it won't come to him easy!!

Anyway that's all for now. Thanks for your time. emoticon emoticon

I think you will still do well even with the 25 minutes BUT I wonder if you can find ways to squeeze in exercise through out your day even with the longer work hours. I know you have the stairs underway, but what about exercises that you can do at your desk? Or at home in between things like waiting for something to come out of the oven, or while waiting for water to boild, do some squats emoticon I used to do those things when I was piched for time. When I had a microwave (and was 50 pounds lighter) I would run in place as fast as a could and would stop once the microwave dinged.

Lastly I LOVE the Hubby Challenge you have going! It is going to be fun to see who wins (my bets are on you) emoticon emoticon emoticon

A little friendly competition never hurt a relationship, right, LOL? You made me smile over your joy for him getting pumped up again. emoticon We women have our ways.

Great going on the exercise, these past few days! You have re-fueled and sharpened your focal point! Game on in the House of Whyte! emoticon

Had another food event yesterday.....it included a lot of my favs, too. I was able to stay away from cake frosting and just ate out a few small bites of cake, covering my napkin over the evil frosting remains, LOL. I have just 1 week before family starts pouring in from 3 different states for a family reunion and then the food fest will be nonstop, followed by a 5 day vacation with DH, our kids, and some close friends of the family....and more eating. LOL, I better become a food strategiest extraordinaire or I am doomed to a fate of regaining lost weight.

Have a nice evening. Keep up the fantastic workouts! Let's both become experts over our food choices! emoticon

    WILSON!!!!!!!! (lol, couldn't resist, lol)
Way to get motivated no matter where that quirky motivation is found! And way to stay positive.
We all hit the bumps in the road and sometimes they throw us to the curb, but as long as we get back up, center ourselves in the right lane and start moving forward again, we'll get where we need to be :) emoticon
