Day 1 of 8 cups of water

Sunday, August 17, 2014

I rarely drink much water and after a couple years of seeing the recommendation, I decided to work on this yesterday.

Perfect day to do so as I had a lot of indoor activities and wouldn't be distracted.

Basically I lined up 4 tumblers that hold 2 cups and sipped throughout the day.

It wasn't difficult although I did use the bathroom very very frequently. I was surprised that I began to notice how thirsty I really am. The 8 cups didn't make me feel bloated.

Also woke up twice more during the night to use the bathroom.

I'll give it a try for a couple more days to see if the night time nature calls stop.

Great goal, I'm working on the same thing myself. I've often confused hunger pains for thirst pains. I even used to crave drinking alcohol mainly because I used to always make my drinks with a lot of ice cubes, I even used water and bitters for my mixer. All I really wanted was the water because I had limited access to it all day at work. I'd come home parched. I'm thinking of getting a pretty glass beverage dispenser to help me and use lemons and limes and mint, etc. for some additional flavors. I read your previous blog about making your own exercise video, I think that's GENIUS!

One thing I've noticed over time is just how many times I mistake thirst for hunger. Because I've never really liked drinking water and used to get most of my daily liquid from food, I would end up grazing all day on food that I wasn't really hungry for in order to get enough water!
