2015 Goals and Expectations

Sunday, January 04, 2015

Well, gosh, where do I start? I was hoping to be half way to my goal by now which was to be 130 lbs by January 1, 2016. But to do that, I would now need to lose 12 lbs a month. An unhealthy expectation.

One thing that I found helps me with my goals is by encouraging others with theirs. So I think this year I will be more active as a cheerleader and supporter than last year.

Also, reach out and look into other resources here on SparkPeople. There are a lot of articles and videos that are designed to help folks with whatever their situation to stay on track.

Another goal is to really focus on being active, even if it is just 10 minutes a day. Get up, get moving. I love to sit around and be a couch potato but that isn't going to help with getting healthier.

For now, this is going to be my focus. I'm going to set new ones every three months. This way, I can refresh my motivation and review my needs.

Here's to a positive, successful year!

Great goals. What really sticks out from your words are: positivity - keep all that negative energy out of your journey; and 10 minutes - yup, 10 minutes often feels so good that it leads to another ten and so on and so on and.............. emoticon

    Hi Reggie,
I am from the BL Winter Freeze Off - thank you for the goodie. I think starting with the 10 minutes every day is the best advice! Once you start you will find 10 minutes often becomes more and we just need to keep building on that. Best wishes in 2015 as you strive to reach your goals - and keeping up with your grandson is a very worthy reason!

Those sound reasonable enough. I'm going to try and just get 10 min in at least three times a day for now and then move up to four to five days a week and then move up to 20 min a day. My problem is time and finding some. I'm hoping it gets better this coming year. Here's to the two of us getting our motivation back and making that ticker start moving the right direction!! emoticon
