Cleaning up in February

In 2014, a flirtation with clean eating helped me move the scale and tape measure and feel so much better. Since the end of fall semester and the holidays, those habits have slipped a bit.

This month, I'm refocusing to eat clean again. I know I'll never be perfect at it, but I'm certainly going to do better when I'm really trying than just hoping it works out. Truthfully most of the meals we cook aren't too far off, since we rarely use prepared meals, sauces, etc. My sweet tooth is usually what gets me into trouble, craving a little something around 9pm every night.

Clean eating can be delicious, and I don't find it to bee too expensive. We're definitely on a budget and while we might have to choose our meals around what's in sale and in season, we can make it work. This week's menu includes:
*Stir fry with peanut sauce
*Mexican beans and turkey with brown rice
*Caribbean tilapia and baked grains pilaf
*Chicken and butternut tagine
*Pork chops with roasted apples and onions

Hopefully by the end of the month my cravings will be toward sweet fruits and I'll be less moody. It's going to be a good month!
