The hardest thing for me here is to love me. All of me. Not just say it but actually feel it. Currently, I'm struggling with how hard it is for me to make friends. There is a girl at work who gets along with everyone and has many friend. Me on the other had, I still flounder in many social situations. Learning and even accepting this part of me is what I wrestle with now but I do love me and know I am not and can not be perfect

It is hard to love yourself. Several have commented not to compare yourself to others. That is hard, but worthwhile. While your co-worker may APPEAR to have a lot of friends, how meaningful are those relationships? Are they superficial? Does she get along with everyone in public, and talk about them behind their backs? You are only seeing her "highlights" reel, and you are comparing that to your movie with all its ups and downs.

I am working on the loving myself thing too, so you are not alone - it is something that I think I may always be able to work on.

    An observation:

    * You've done more to help people on SP, than any other 6 people I've observed.

You've got a lot of friends, here.

Wow - thanks for your emotional honesty and vulnerability. I count you as a friend and it would be wonderful to be able to walk together and share a pot of tea. Your comments to me over the last couple of years have meant so much to me.

I'm really striving to love all of me --- and to be emotionally honest. And I like being around other people who are "on this road." I'm trying to love myself today instead of seeking approvals and trying to control situations ---- which is where I used to be.

Coming to mind: "Don't compare your insides with somebody else's outsides." emoticon

Loving yourself can be hard when you see things that you don't like about yourself (ie weight) but focus on the things you to like or do well. I makes loving yourself easier.

The biggest thing about making friends is putting yourself in situations to meet more people, especially people you have somethings in common with. Find inexpensive or free class to take on things that interest you. If you have a dog take it for long walks or go to the dog park. Most dog owners love to talk to other dog owners and in the proccess you ge some exercise.

I have such a hard time with that too. I don't have hardly any friends where I live, but I have the best friends in the world here on spark. Much better than any that live nearby. They are always just a click away and yes, I can't go to lunch with them or shopping or whatever, but in the 2 years that I've been on spark I have had a lot more advice, push towards my goals and understanding than I have ever had from any of my close by friends.
I love who you are and you should too. You always make me smile.

This is why most of us are in Sparks... not just because it's free. emoticon

I definitely understand that. I struggle with the same issues. I feel the love and accepting of myself is my first priority and perhaps after that- the healthy relationships and friendships can build on top of it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Me too, I have so much negative thoughts about myself, that it is hard to break out of this rut.

Anne emoticon I hope you're not comparing! That's a sure way to get discouraged as I know from experience. It's good to see a post from you today - it's been quiet from your direction for awhile!
