This Time the Last Time! Starting over again.

Thursday, June 25, 2015

This emoticon was asked this morning on the 5% Summer Challenge Airport Buzz by WHOLEFOODLOVER.

Question: do folks usually reset your goals and tickers at the beginning of the challenge? I was thinking it might be extra motivation.

It's really a personal choice. I never have changed mine, until this challenge. I decided to change it now because I've had many false starts, but with this challenge I am determined to make it my last time to start over.

I am 3 pounds heavier now than my highest weight when I started Spark. That is not a reflection on the 5% challenge. In a recent conversation with a fellow challenger, we decided we didn't really want to know where we would be without Spark People, and specifically the Challenge.

The NSV's I have reached are not seen on the scale or in the numbers. Those benefits are evident in my daily life, and mostly begin with the word Self. Self- Confidence, Self- Respect, Self- Forgiveness, (that's the biggest one). Positive emotions, feelings and actions have replaced the negativity, panic and anxiety I used to live with every day. I now live a guilt free life. No more self- flagellation.

Although I do still sometimes emoticon. I will never be perfect, and wouldn't want to be. I lost 40 pounds. I gained 43. I have basically maintained for two years.

Summer 2015! The Season I am starting over again for the last time!

You're an incredible role model, girlfriend! You have to be, in order to keep encouraging so many people with all these great challenges. I simply love the B-I-N-G-O challenges the Teddy Bears have implemented this challenge. Keep beginning again and begin because it is so worth it to honor our bodies with good and improved health. There's nothing wrong with celebrating Onederland yet one more time... Let's do it again. This slow poke may have to wait it out for yet another 5% challenge, but it will happen! Hug, hug - Evelyn

Love yourself and start over every day.

    What day is it?
    TODAY, yelled Piglet.
Oh, my favorite day, said Pooh.

I can totally relate. I've done exactly the same thing so many times and even now I have put back all I lost last challenge, which is so frustrating. This time we will do it, and keep it off. emoticon

Hmm interesting Ceri!! I'd never thought of this!!!

Hmmm I think I may join u!!! It will be a hard challenge, any weight loss will be done by what I chose to NOT eat. An infected ulcer which won't heal til perhaps fall, is keeping me from using my feet. I'm also currently hooked up to an IV pole, 2 times a day. Who knows what is to follow. There's grrrr talk of surgery #20 on them.

Hmmm my 5% loss would be 11 lbs, I think I 'll shoot for 1/2 of it, if I were still swimming, walking I'd go for the entire amount.

Ceri, I've noticed the many changes in you though the years. It's easy to tell u r much more confidence in regard ur body, and to benefit from the stronger woman ur now. Yes, we'd all LOVE to be at our goal. Yet, the work we do, shapes us into a more positive attitude, I'm so happy u have joined many of us, who have, will, follow this. It gets rid of negative thoughts others had infected upon us.

    U GO GIRL!

I SO could have written this blog my very self...even the weight is pretty accurate! I have kicked, scoffed, ridiculed and beat myself up pretty hard over losing and gaining, gaining and losing as if I don't deserve to actually claim I've beaten the battle!

I honestly do think that stress is a HUGE part of weight gain..considering stress sets your cortisol to olympic peak levels in the body.

I can't do much to eliminate the stress of the long and dramatic 'save our house' fight..we have been waging for the past 5 years....but I can choose in how I react to it. I need to incorporate more yoga, meditations, and deep breathing exercises into my life. I never give myself a minute for calming practices...it's always do this..FAST..so I can mark that off my 'to do' list and race to the next item.

    NO GOOD!

This challenge I'm with you...I'm going to give it my all...and I'm putting my plan of action on paper (blog form) so that I can garner the support I truly need from all of my sparkling friends!

I'm also going to seek out and subscribe to the blogs of some of our amazing sparklers who have had success and walk the walk to glean their successful tips.

I have to share LeslieLenore with you for exercise..this girl BURNS the calories like nobodies business...I mean EVERY day she does this..no excuses, no questions..it just is WHAT she does!

Then I have to share our amazing Kay - SIMPLELIFE4REAL as an amazing role model for eating healthy and overcoming cancer. She is a wonderful role model for perseverance , positively, gratefulness, and success through good food!

Let's DO this girlfriend...you KNOW we can..we've obviously done it before! We just need to get our heads in the game and STAY there!

I challenge you my Ceri friend to meet your 5% loss in weight goal this time around....and I WILL be checking and cheering you on throughout our 8 weeks on your progress!

Please return the favor for me..together we will always be stronger...YA~HOO!

NO time like the present...we deserve to feel happy, healthy, and proud of the body we walk around in! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Ceri, those attitude NSVs are priceless! Now, if you choose to lose -- er, release -- you already have your inner cheering section! And then, there is us on SparkPeople, cheering too!

I'm going to reset my goals and ticker also for this 5% Summer Challenge. Didn't think about that until I read your blog. I foresee that it will be a good motivator for me.

The NSV's areusually greater than the SV's. I hope this 5% Challenge will be the jump-start for lasting success.
