Summer and the scale

Well, I survived a week of vacation without gaining an ounce. Lots and lots of walking, 2 8-mile runs, a hilly 5-miler, swimming and lots of self-discipline about drinking and over-eating. Annoyed the family by making a huge salad to have with every meal. Normally healthy eating at the lake lasts for about 2 days - this time I made it for 7 of the 9 days we were there.

Ironically, this week at work has been very busy, so I've missed a couple of workouts due to my schedule and having to drive to other locations to work. Although I've eaten right at the top of my range, it has been a bit more carb-heavy than usual. Result? The scale is up 2 pounds! Now - I know I did not eat enough extra to gain 2 pounds... so fingers crossed it's a temporary blip.

Back to the cabin for the weekend. Weather is supposed to be good - will get in a run and LOTS OF WALKING!!!
