It’s easy for me to stick to my plan during the work week. I exercise before work, take a healthy lunch, and come home and eat a healthy dinner. I have a routine. When the weekends come, the routine is thrown out the window. To be successful, I plan to do the following on the weekend:
1. Drink water, no soda
2. Continue to exercise when I first get up. It’ll just be later than normal.
3. Allow myself to indulge in a few unhealthy food choices, but not gorge myself.
4. Only eat when hungry.

Since I’m not on a diet, I need to learn some discipline. This is a new way of life. I have to be able to go to family functions, parties, and restaurants and make reasonable food choices. This is the only way I will be successful with my new healthy lifestyle.

Let me know if you have any other suggestion I need to incorporate into my approach. Thanks!

I read all your blogs, finding so many of the same struggles I have. You are doing a great job blogging, which I have to believe, in the end, will strengthen your resolve, and therefore YOUR SUCCESS. I am down to one soda a day, in the morning, like others have coffee, I guess. Most days I don't finish it, and even if I pour out only the last ounce, I think its a victory. So it is a little thing, but try it. Wasting goes against our generation, so maybe that will help curb the soda urge, who knows. I am toasting you with my ice water. Cheers to you for the awesome, honest blogs!

I am the same way! Maybe make a "weekend routine" to follow? I know I am learning that indulging during the weekend can completely undo all of the hard work from the work week and I DON'T want that to be wasted! Remind yourself of how hard you worked. Maybe a wrist band or something to remind you? These are just things that work for me! Don't beat yourself up for one slip and remember every moment is a fresh new moment to begin again! Wish you all the best! emoticon

If you are tempted to eat the wrong food during the weekend, try to remember all the hard work you have done during the week. Eating calorie laden foods is so counterproductive on your journey. If you continue eating well on those two days, you will definitely see the proof on the scale. Best wishes to you...
