Invitation: Create a New Year's goal now (and meet your goal by 1/1/16)

Rather than waiting until 1/1/16 to make your New Year's resolution, consider making a goal that you want to meet by 1/1/2016 and doing it now.
My goal is to lose 5 pounds by 1/1/16. I'm about 158 pounds now. I want to wake up on 1/1/2016 and see 153.0 or lower on the scale.
Here's my plan - Until 1/1/16 (and minus 3 days at Thanksgiving and 3 days at Christmas):
Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays: 600 calorie deficits
Tuesdays, Fridays: no deficit (I call them '0 days')
Wednesdays, Thursdays: 400 calorie deficits
That's a 2,600 calorie deficit per week and there are about 8 weeks (not counting the time at Thanksgiving or Christmas), for a grand total of 20,800 calories, which is 5.9 pounds, which I'm rounding down to 5 pounds to allow for some slip ups or for time being sick or for reaching the goal early and then just maintaining it until 1/1.
