Annual physical results today....I am not prediabetic anymore.

It would be nice to say that this low carb/high fat diet had taken everything wrong with me and fixed it in just 4 1/2 months. It didn't. My medical results were good....vastly improved even....but not perfect. My fasting blood sugar was 84. Insulin levels WAY down (11.9)....not as good as my doctor wants but WAY down. The best part is that I am not prediabetic any more.

After 16 years of listening to the "experts", it's time to listen to my body. Low carb/high fat is making my body very, very happy. Remember folks, there are essential amino acids. There are essential fatty acids. There are NO essential carbs. Unless you have a rare genetic disorder, your body can MAKE all of the carbohydrates it needs from moderate protein intake. A low fat/low calorie diet (and I ate REAL food...wholesome, balanced, organic, etc.) made me hungry, prediabetic, and fat. Your body is a chemistry lab, not a calorie meter and if your diet (whatever it is) isn't working for you (and nothing works for EVERYone)....maybe it's time to research alternatives.

I spent too much time angry at my body for not responding when I was "doing everything right" instead of listening to it tell me that it couldn't function that way.
