Preparing for a Fuel Cycle Week

Saturday, February 27, 2016

Tomorrow, I'm doing a THM fuel cycle week with my daughter. I'm hoping to do it for a total of 2 weeks, which is the amount of time recommended on the THM plan.

The week consists of 3 days of Deep S - which is basically very low carb, high fat. No peanut butter, nuts, dairy or fruit allowed for 3 days. Then it's followed by 2 days of FP - low carb, low fat days. Calories are very low just for those 2 days. The final 2 days are E days. Those will be higher carb and low fat.

I'm hoping this will jumpstart my sluggish metabolism. I'm so thankful to have my daughter taking the journey with me. She's done Fuel Cycle weeks a couple of times with great results.

So after today, I'll be saying goodbye to my peanut butter for a couple of weeks.

Tomorrow morning, I'll face the music, step on the scale and break out the measuring tape. I'll probably grab my phone for a before picture as well.

I'll try to blog my experience. I'm hoping to blog each day, but time usually gets away from me. But I'll do my best.

I know this will work if I can just get my night time eating under control. I'm doing better, but still eating after bedtime.

You are so fortunate to have such a wonderful family support system! Praise God for them and for our Father that we can go to!!!

I think most binge eaters as myself have totally changed this pattern by eating the THM way, allowing ourselves plenty of fat in our diets actually seemed to help my brain feel satisfied. When we restrict or cut back on fats we actually cause our bodies to need and want more and our brains too..our brains need fat.

I'll be rooting for you Nancy!

I'm planning a FP cycle, started my menu planning this morning. I've been stuck at 171 and would like to get into the 160's :)

I don't know what a THM is... nor do I know the terms you mentioned.

I hope this works for you. As a binge eater I've had to accept that this kind of measures and cutting out a lot of foods is not for me. I need to be very consistent with my food pattern and I need to avoid complicated food rules!

Feel free to ignore what I said, of course but my thought is that getting the night time eating under control may well be the first thing to focus on because weight loss will probably not last when a person is bingeing or frequently overeating.
