Time to get back to blogging

Wednesday, March 09, 2016

I always blogged regularly throughout this journey, and for some reason, this time around I've been neglecting it. I have no idea why. Today seems as good as any to change that!

Today was day 1 of the Spring BLC. I'm focusing on small steps toward the bigger picture.

During the winter challenge, I set my 10 week goal as 20 lbs. I met that goal (actually 21 lbs)! This time, since my future with my foot is still so up in the air, I'm being more conservative. If I can drop another 10, that would be good. But me being me, good isn't good enough! lol So I set my goal for 15 lbs.

Four weeks ago, I don't know that I would be setting such a goal. When they told me I have to wear this cam boot, I planned on maintaining. Because I didn't think I'd be able to progress much with it on. Well it's apparent I know how to gain and lose. I do NOT know how to maintain lol. At my one month check up in the boot, I was 12.4 lbs less. lol So yeah, I'm setting a 15 lb goal for this challenge.

The 16th will be 4 months since I recommitted to this journey. I'd lazied my way back to 274.6 lbs. I've lost almost 40 lbs in just under 4 months! When I set my mind to it, I'm determined! So yes, I'm setting a goal above what my foot may be able to do! If I don't reach it, that's ok. But if I DO! That will be AWESOME! And of course secretly, I'm totally hoping a CRUSH it!

Tony Horton may not be in my near future, but rehab on my foot, sensible eating, increased cardio and ST absolutely ARE in my present AND my future! Who knows, once I'm fully operational again, I may just toss Tony aside for Shawn T!!!! lol

I applaud you for getting back to blogging. I enjoy reading about my fellow 5% Challenge friends. You set a great goal, and I love the fact that you compete against yourself as well as others, lol. You are the best person to kick you in the rear to motivate you. Well done, grasshopper. I set my goals low so I can achieve them easier, because I learned about myself that I get discouraged easily, so for me, a slower approach has been overwhelmingly successful. Guess what I learned on Spark is to really listen to my body and myself, and not try to be someone else. Can't wait to see where this challenge is taking you!! Good luck, and kick some serious behind!
