Today has been another super busy but very exciting day... it has been go go go. Got up a little later this morning due to change to daylight savings time and I was just fine with that. We stayed at a nice hotel in Portland that had a complimentary breakfast so after we got up we headed downstairs for breakfast. Our plan for today was to go to the Portland RV Show, then do a little shopping, have an early dinner and head home. The National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning for the coast that was in effect from 11am - 6pm so we didn't want to drive home during that timeframe in what might be hazardous conditions with the possibility of trees falling.

After breakfast, we packed up and checked out. I had considered doing 30 minutes on the treadmill at the hotel gym but time was short so I gave myself a break today. Looking at my Fitbit I'm not even going to make 10,000 today. We will call this a rest day.

First stop was the Portland RV Show at the Expo Center. It was about 1/2 hour drive from the hotel and then cars were backed up to get in the parking lot ... so got in a little later than we had plan'ned.. but no biggie. The Expo center was busy and there were literally 100's of RV's that you could tour. We started out looking at every one, but after going in and out of about 20 we just looked at models that were in our size range. The really little ones were cute and not real expensive. I wish I had considered something inexpensive when I was younger but it wasn't even on my radar. It would have been fun to go camping on week-ends and we have a lot of parks along the coast. I just tell myself I have to be happy that we are camping now as it is something I really love to do. It is a quality experience. Around 1:30 I found I was absolutely famished. One of the salespeople told us about different concessions throughout the building and we walked through about 3 buildings full of RV's to get to the food court. We had a quick (and expensive!) lunch but I felt re-energized. While walking through the other buildings to the food area we spotted some RV's we wanted to check out. We stepped into one and were immediately smitten. The layout was just beautiful and the workmanship and materials seemed to be better quality. I think you can guess where this is going. We are beyond excited about our new RV! My DH has worked so hard on our used RV (1992 model) to get it fixed up and he has done a wonderful job. It is cute.. but it isn't like the new ones lol. We have several big camping trips planned over the Summer and in the back of our minds we have been worried about taking a 25 year old RV on a long hard trip. What if an axle breaks... or the tires, breaks, etc has an issue. When you are 1000 miles from home that can be stressful. The new RV includes full roadside assistance for a year so that will give us enough time to shake out any issues. We also received a 1 yr membership to Thousand Trails and a lifetime pass to Neskowin Creek RV Park. Neskowin is down the coast about 2 hours from where we live so I think that will be fun too. We pick up our new RV next Saturday in Portland.. Yip!

After we left the show, we headed to Costco to do some shopping. We are going with my Sis/BIL and 2 of their friends down the coast for 3 days later this week. We each will be cooking one breakfast and one dinner so I needed to get some supplies however will still have to shop for additional groceries tomorrow.

We then headed to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I had my favorite skinnylicious veggie burger with green salad and just one bite of DH's red velvet cheesecake dessert. Yay!

Headed home around 6pm and we had no issues with wind. There were a few trees that had come down but highway was clear. When we got home the clocks were all blinking so we had lost power but it was back on. Needed to change the time on the clocks anyway lol.

Sorry.. but I'm behind on all my e-mail and blogs... I haven't had a chance to read and comment on blogs but should be caught up in the next day or so. Thanks for stopping by and sending you all best wishes for a wonderful week.

Is it an actual RV or is it a 5th wheel? Couldn't really tell from the photo. Congratulations. We talked about buying a RV a few years ago but then Bob had CHF and those plans had to change. emoticon

Glad you look the new RV. For me, I've always been to frugal to spend a lot of money on camping, but had fun sleeping in a tent when we went. My husband isn't much on camping, nor were my kids interested.
