Since joining SparkPeople I'm down 50 pounds!

It hasn't been quick and it hasn't been easy, my weight loss graph looks like a mountain range with it's ups and downs, until this year when it's flat lines and dips. I change my diet to a Ketogenic diet (low carb, moderate protein and high fat to those of you who don't know) It's controversial and definitely not for everyone but it working for me and my Hubby.

I Have been keto since New Years Eve 2015 and I've gone from 182.8 to 157.4 a loss of 25.4 pounds! WOOT! I joined SparkPeople at 207.4 pounds and it took me four, up and down, years to lose 25 pounds by counting calories and exercising like a fiend, and less then five months to lose the next 25 pounds, eating Keto, and only walking my dogs although I'm more than ready to get back to the strength training.

The reason DH and I chose a keto food plan was because he is a type 2 diabetic and after doing a ton of research, reading countless articles online as well as several books and watching many YouTube lectures I decided to give keto a go. DH's doctor is completely on board and astounded by DH blood work, he has a complete lipid and A1C done every 3 months. His Doc actually said to him that he always advises people that they can reduce or eliminate medications with diet and exercise but in all his years of practice DH is the the only one of his patients that has actually managed to do it.
