I have been so majorly stressed for the last few weeks! I have pretty well kept it together until yesterday! I had a major binge! And I still just want to eat and eat! And buy stuff!!! I am on anti depressants and I see a therapist! I haven't talked to her about emotional eating/shopping! Just things in my life that lead to it! I have bee doing the trim healthy mamma lifestyle and have lost 30 pounds! I don't want to mess that up and I don't want to go back to eating junk all the time! I am definitely what they call a drive thru sue and ate some "personal choice " items. But I was getting healthier! My stress is mainly caused by my husband-his job is stressing him out and his family is stressing him out! He is either grouchy or upset every single day. He was on medication for a while, but decided he felt better without it ! He refuses to see a therapist (long story)! He really has no one to talk to (me a little), because his stress involves everyone around him. He has contimplated leaving his job, and is working on something new right now. Still stressful right now. His mom is currently living with his sister. His younger brother is a mess. His stepdad is a piece of work. There isn't much he can do about his family. He has tried to step back from them a little. He is usually the one to come to the resume/moderate the issues. I have usually just kept my mouth shut about all of it. But, since their actions effect my life, I'm just tired off all of their mess!

Thank you for all your comments! I am feeling a bit better. We went to the lake yesterday with my family. My husband talked to my parents a little. I think it helped.

Wish I could offer some good advice.
Exercise is Healthy for the stress and mood. IT releases a lot of pent up feelings.
Could you possibly get your DH to walk with you?
I know how fear of leaving a job is a financial thing. But I agree he needs to find a job elsewhere.
We spend soooo many hours at a job and it can be very hard if he is unhappy with co-workers.
If he is close to his Sister, maybe he can talk to her?

I don't have nearly that much going on; however, my husband stresses out very easily, and I have to say to myself, "Don't let his stress become your stress." That helps me to keep more calm.

First you are not alone. We are here for if you want to yell kick, scream, cuss, curse, dump it out..we don't mind and are here for you. Read my profile introduction..and my blog family stressors..I have been there, and I too made some bad choices for myself. I can only say..when I put myself as a priority after falling down so many times..I finally am healthy enough to actually handle more stressful situations now. This is not a one and takes effort everyday. Know that you are worth your own efforts! Chin up sweetie..remember..never look back..focus on what you are doing moment to moment..take every new win and rejoice in it..and a step back is a win when you recognize it and make the next choice a win.
    Biggest of hugs!

Oh, Candy! I know how hard it is to deal with family stress, and it sounds like you have a tremendous load of it. I pray that you will put yourself first. It's really the only thing you can do. Stress eating will make you sick, and that's the last thing you need right now!

Try to have some on plan THM comfort foods available. The little cakes I make from the chocolate muffin-in-a-mug (MIM) recipe are quite satisfying to me when I crave comfort foods. If you don't have that recipe (in the original book, page 256) private message me, and I will send it to you. I put the MIM batter into 4 or 5 silicone cupcake molds, microwave one minute, and have some yummy little tea cakes. They travel well...I keep a small plastic container with a few in it when I'm going to be out too long and will need a good snack. I also pre-measure the dry ingredients for these snack cakes and keep several of them on hand in little Rubbermaid containers. That way, I can whip them up in a hurry.

Hang on...and don't give up on yourself. Your husband is on the right track in stepping back from his family's dramas and looking for new employment. He (and you) might like the mantra my daughter uses when work and other stresses start escalating: Not my monkeys, not my circus! (Let the monkeys handle their own dramas!)

I have nothing to offer you but a prayer for peace. Living in turmoil is toxic...I hope that you can find little moments of peace in your day to help you get through. ❤
