Don't Throw Caution to the Winds

Saturday, August 27, 2016

11180 steps so far today. Family upset I went out at night to get over 10K steps after walking earlier @ Mall: 8500 steps Took the "beating" well. Must be careful, I know. Was only in the neighborhood. Will be more cautious in the future. Do the neighborhood on the main streets, but, cell users do not pay attention. Woman stopped at the stop sign and started to drive as I stepped off the curb to cross the street. Looked at her and saw her texting. I yelled, "watch out." Her reply, "I'm sorry." Sorry would not have mattered if I was recovering in the hospital after being hit. Drivers! Pay attention. emoticon

These days seems like everyone has their eyes on their cell and whether a driver or pedestrian, we all need to be and stay alert. Fault and blame won't matter if we're in the ICU or six feet under.

I understand your frustration. I've also been confronted from daytime sightless drivers who choose to text, talk on the phone, or ignore pedestrians. Have even had drivers play chicken with me, on city streets or in the park. We just have to stay vigilant at all times. Pray for your safety as you continue on your journey toward improved health. emoticon

That happened to me which discouraged me from night time walking. Driver turned corner quickly and I jumped back to sidewalk curb to save my life.
