Wow! Great pictures. At dinner time around here our cat perches herself right by the treat cupboard as to say if you are going to be eating in front of me I deserve a treat! She will stay there for awhile too. Until she get thoroughly bored with having to wait for us to get one. She will paw at the cupboard but is not as talented at Miss Queen. 1645 days ago
This is funny. I am not a cat person at all. In fact, I am sort of anti-cat. Not that I would ever pass judgement on a cat lover (seriously) or wish a cat badly. But I have never had a cat, and I have no desire.
Well, my daughter got a cat just before last Christmas. Her boyfriend is a cat person and she is a dog person, but there is no question that a cat better fits their lifestyle. However, they did pick a cat that the shelter felt would get along ok with a dog if that ever happened.
In any event, I must say that her cat is adorable. And she is constantly sending pictures and videos. She recently sent a video of the cat opening a closed door. I know that cats and dogs do plot to get to the food. I guess this is proof!!! 1695 days ago
That is one sneaky, super intelligent cat! I had a cat who figured out how to open a lower cupboard door in the shelter when she saw that's where the treats were kept. I was concerned because I had the same type of cupboard doors in my apt., but I never kept food in those and she left them alone. Until one day I couldn't find her and opened the door to my baking pans. She was curled up in the cake pan! Had to take everything out and wash them and reline the cupboard. Kept a step stool in front of that door for the rest of the time I had her. It didn't latch quite as tight as the others. I have no doubt had she put her mind to it, she could have opened all of them.
But yours! A tall door. What is most amazing is that she closed the door. A cat that covers her tracks. That's scary! You're gonna have your hands full! 1695 days ago
SIMCYN I keep the treats up above and since dogs can't explore the higher places as cats can... they are safe. Of course, the dogs are realllllly good at giving me such starving pitiful looks that they get more treats than what is good for them. 1696 days ago
I have lived with cabinet locks on all my kitchen cabinets for the last 14 years. We have no 2 legged, fur-less children. We have always had cats in this house. Whoever said they were dumb animals never lived with one! Love the photos. At least she is tidy, closing the door after herself and all. 1696 days ago
OH YES !! They do NOT miss a treat or "treat" !!! I hide mine under under a pillow on the bed (shamelessly I DO call her up to lay down with them !) and Izzy KNOWS right where they are. Let's remember their sense of smell is uncanny !
I had a white cat (pure white, fur like a rabbit, eyes of green with a pink nose and her paw pads were also pink,,, precious !) Sissy who LOVED Angel food cake. I would put it in the cupboard over the counter. She's GRAB it at night so than I thought "There's NO WAY Little girl you can get it HERE !" And put on the highest shelf. Yeah you know where this going,,,, the morning it was partly gone. LITTLE STINKER !!
The one after her,, Little Dah,,,, LOVED treats !! That's to put it mildly, and she even learned how to get into a plastic container that LOCKED !!! I had person after person over and they all said "That can NOT be done !" LOL yeah it CAN be and it WAS !! Right in front of her. SMART kit Katz !!
Izzy is still sick,, gotta go and give her a pill and in an hr do the liquid med. If you ever have to do these, I HIGHLY recommend watching some video's on youtube. 1696 days ago
