Why is this so hard?

Sunday, April 30, 2017

From SP Motivator to 204 pile of miserable.

I've gained back all but about 6 pounds of what I'd lost.

And I've tried several times to get back on; why is it so hard to come back? I know I can do this. I've done it! VERY successfully; I'd gotten down to 164. The right way. Slowly, with healthy lifestyle changes.

Why can't I get it going again? I know what to do. Start tracking. I even have a phone that can run the app now, and the barcode scanner works great. So why can't I get started?

What was the magic pill that started the cascade last time?

Granted, I'm busier now; less bored, more working crazy mom stuff.

But still... I know what to do. I'm getting better already; I've sorta lost 2 lbs, but I'm not tracking that till my weekly (I know how deceiving daily weigh ins can be) from not snacking.

It doesn't help that my husband's started whining about his weight; some lady from work called him fat, and now he's all emo and skipping meals.

Lord help me.

It is hard because you have to work. And it is HARD. You can do this!

What has changed that you can't do what you did previously with success?

Remember .... baby steps and the changes will be easier to manage and it will far more easy to get back into the swing of things again.

    you know WHAT to do.

you know HOW to do it.

you just have to find your WANT to do it. And you will.

I've regained some, too. I am determined to get back to where I was, and successfully maintain a healthy weight.

I know what you mean. I've been there, no, I am there!
The first time I lost all the weight I didn't even plan to lose weight (well, I did, but I didn't want to work for it), it just happened. I found a new hobby (walking) and the pounds just went....... then I started eating too much, and the pounds came back (plus some more). This time It's really hard. I still walk, I walk a lot but it's not enough.

I've taken a long and hard look at myself and I know where the fault lies: I snack too much, especially in the evenings. So I stopped. Sometimes it's easy, other times it's hard. Even worse, I've hardly lost any weight.
But I'm not giving up! It took a long time for the pounds to get back and it won't be quick to lose them again.
Celebrate the fact that 6 pounds have not returned, and then work out a plan to get back to where you were. emoticon

It's proof by your husband's actions, others impressions of us affect us. But, this journey needs to be for ourselves, our health. Not due to others opinions. As in poetry, you'll find your muse, whether it's your children or otherwise. You got this.

It's hard, but you are taking steps forward and you will get there. You know how, you've done it before. I find for me I never know what will spark me, but I constantly look for sparks to motivate me-blog entries from others/magazine articles/weightloss stories/

Right there with you. Coming back after doing it the right way. Food is my recurring weak spot.
