Exercise is one area I got down pat. Everyday I work out on the treadmill and most days I hike the hills near our home. Moving my body helps me stay in touch with what it needs.
My body has been the battleground for all my struggles and hurts and fears. Now I want to make friends with my body, to see it as my partner, a necessary part of who I am. Not sure this makes sense but instead of 'beating myself up,' I want to embrace this body I've been given.
It's my home. The space where I carry all that I am. I love my actual home and take care of it and decorate it with love and care. I need to apply that same standard to my body - embracing, loving and supporting it in the way it needs.
