Reviewing the year
Wednesday, October 25, 2017
It’s been a little more than a year since my last posting. Looking back I can see what went well and what went not so well. I lost half of the weight towards my goal and then totally blew it after a week’s vacation last year. Took me months to get back on track, but have been doing pretty good ever since. Having been scared by how easy one can slide back into overeating and isolating and feeling depressed, I was very careful to get right back on track after this recent vacation.
What has really helped is continuous support from two very sweet friends, who I met here on SP. What a gift that has been!
My determination to never give up and learn from previous mistakes is what drives me to keep trying. Thomas Edison’s quote really inspires me. “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
Guess you could call that my weight loss motto!
Comparing this period with last year in October, my weight is about 10 kilos heavier but I am definitely in better shape as I can walk for miles and just keep going, like the energizer bunny! I also have way less problems with my back and just feel stronger and healthier. I have learned to prepare healthy meals and feed my body, not starve just to get another kilo off.
So living and learning. Moving forward is what it’s all about.
