My Job to Retrain My Brain

I've had dysfunctional thinking and a dysfunctional relationship with food for a very long time. I finally am working with a coach/therapist/counselor to help me form a healthier relationship with food. I'm in a bad relationship with food and I want out of that bad relationship!

In order to start retraining my brain, it needs practice in learning to turn to the healthy thoughts before the unhealthy ones. I am going to give it practice by using a journal to prepare for each next day, but only one day at a time.

So I found this fabulous journal to help in my retraining. I'm excited to start my lessons!!

    Sometimes I think that I think about food way too much. But really, the problem is WHAT I'm thinking about food and all those times that I'm not taking time to think and instead, just reacting. So, my coach suggested I do a little planning each evening to set myself up for success for the next day. She helped me realize that I'd been planning for my failure instead of planning for my success. So, after my appointment with her I stopped at the store to get a journal for planning each evening. That's when I found this amazing journal that will help me think and plan for SUCCESS. I have to retrain my brain. It's not just magically thinking about things differently. I've had dysfunctional thinking around food for a very long time and it's going to take time to change that thinking. My brain needs practice learning this new thinking and actually writing it down will help me train my brain in a constructive way. I'm finally feeling hopeful again! YAY!! :-) ONWARD!!

    Great! I hope you find it useful. I think most of us here on SP have tried a lot of different weight loss...weight management... lifestyle programmes. And since so much of overeating is emotional... stress management... self-comforting, the more we can understand about our relationship with food, the better results we will have.
