It's been a whirlwind around here!
We put our house on the market Friday, March 23 and we signed an offer on Sunday, March 25! We had 4 offers come in over asking price! We are now in the process of taking care of a couple minor issues that came up in the home inspection (a couple of outlets the buyer wants replaced and a minor mold issue in the attic along the chimney) We are scheduled to close on May 7.
The kids, my MIL and I went down to NC on Tuesday, March 27 through Monday, April 2. We all went to what will be our new church for Easter and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Actually, every where we went, we met lovely people. We had a fabulous time checking out our new hometown and doing some house hunting. We went with a realtor on Friday the 30th and found our new home quite my accident. We had an appointment to see a house in a new development, but as we were getting ready to enter the house, the building rep called our realtor and said that there was already an offer on it. So we decided to check out a house a couple doors down...and we fell in love! It hits just about everything on our wish list. There is an added bonus of a greenway trail looping through the development and a pool and clubhouse with a fitness studio that we can use. My MIL and the kids were back at the condo so we ran to get them and met the realtor back at the house so the family could see it. The kids had a blast running up and down the stairs, picking out rooms and imagining furniture placement. We put an offer in and it was accepted! We sign papers on May 9. It will be a crazy time traveling back and forth for all the signing. Hubby is also coming the weekend of April 27-29 for our daughter's bday. He might come up this coming weekend too. It's an 8 hour drive, but we all really miss each other. Thank goodness for Skype! We have a call every night and the kids can connect with him.
So my schedule looks like this:
every Tues & Thur night soccer practice
every Wed night church
every Sunday morning church
every Sunday evening taking my daughter to her small group meeting
April 13-15 Hubby possibly home
14th - mold remediation in attic
14th - soccer game at 1
21st piano recital at 2
27-29 Hubby home for daughter's bday
27 soccer game at 1
29 Daughter's bday
April 30-May 2 move necessities to my MIL's house (the kids and I will be living with her until school gets out early June and we move to NC to join Hubby)
May 3-4 movers coming to pack up house and load the truck
May 4-7 Hubby home to sign papers
May 5 soccer game at 1
May 7 evening - drive with Hubby to NC
May 9 sign papers for new house
May 10 fly back to OH
May 12, 19, 20, June 2 soccer games at 1
May 14-16 oldest son's field trip to DC
June 1 last day of school
June 9-10 soccer tournaments
If we make it to the tournaments, we will move the following week. If not, we will move the first full week of June.
Just typing out that list is enough to send me into panic mode! BUT... God is so good! He has seen us this far and He will surely see us through to the end of the journey. Everything is happening in His timing.
In the meantime, I have more stuff to sort and purge in the garage. We need to pack about 2 weeks worth of clothes to move to my MIL's for the 5 or so weeks we'll be living with her. I will need to put a temporary address change to my MIL's house and then onto the new house.
My MIL will be moving down to NC as well. While we are with her, I will help her sort through her stuff and get her ready to sell her house. She has a few medical issues she wants to take care of before she moves, so she will follow us sometime in the summer.
It's a crazy, busy time around here, but I'm looking forward to settling into our new home, taking the dog for walks along the greenway, learning our way around and just enjoying all being together again.
