“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”

When you are in line at the grocery, it is a choice you make whether you treat the person in front of you, the person behind you, the cashier, and the bagger all with kindness and patience, or with rudeness and an air of superiority and entitlement.

It doesnt matter whether the cashier is slow, the bagger put one too many things in the bag, the person in front of you is on their phone, and the person behind smells like they haven't showered in days. It is YOUR choice on how you respond to any given situation.

It. is. your. choice. You can choose to treat every individual with grace and kindness. Or you can choose to be a jerk.

Maybe the cashier is a jerk and moving slow just because she can. Or maybe she just got a call that her mother has cancer and she is doing everything she can just to make it through her day.

Maybe the bagger is a jerk and just throws things in however because he can. Or maybe he's distracted because he just found out he and his family are being evicted from their home.

Maybe the guy in front of you is a jerk and is on his phone because, why not. Or maybe his baby girl is running a super high fever and he's making sure he has what he needs.

Maybe the guy behind you is a jerk and hasnt showered because he doesnt care. Or maybe he hasnt had the energy to even think about it because his wife of 30 years just passed.

These are all just made up examples. The point is, WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS. We are ALL children of God worthy of love, kindness, and patience.

Do not take your mess out on me or the next guy. Do not make me or the Starbucks clerk the bad guy. We're not the ones who really made you late, or who made you cheat on your diet, or was the cause of why you couldnt sleep. THAT WAS ALL YOU.

I am going through a million different things and so is everyone else. It is not fair to turn us all into bad guys when you're having a bad day, week, or month.

PLEASE TREAT PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS. I promise you, it will come back to you. You will start to see your day turn around, your week turn around.
If you put good out into the world, good will come back to you.
