Resting up today

Yesterday was quite the busy day. I started the family dinner in the crockpot as I knew I would be out at dinner time. I drove into Portland for the 09:15 start of the Southern Maine Heart Walk. The day was overcast and chilly (low 50s) with a brisk wind coming in right off Casco Bay. I used the 3.25 miles as the day's cardio by completing the course in under an hour. I was satisfied but chilled to the bone. I headed for home and a nice warm shower. I checked on the dinner I started and it was still partially frozen...and the crockpot stone cold. All the lights were on but it failed to launch! I got out the other crockpot (so glad I had a back up) and got it going while I microwaved the ingredients to make up for the hours of cooking time lost.
I felt like a new woman once warmed by the shower and a good lunch. A bit of a rest spell and it was time to dress for the Spring Concert performance I was a part of. Call was at 5pm to go over a couple of pieces we needed a refresher on. The 7pm performance was one of the best I've been part of as a member of this Gorham Community Chorus. The pieces were all numbers from Broadway shows and were fun to do. We did stuff from "Hair" to "South Pacific" encompassing a wide variety of shows. I didn't get to dinner until almost 9:30.
So, all that being said, today was a recover and regroup type of day. I made a batch of jam, did some sewing, ran a couple of errands and got all the flower boxes and hanging planters out on the front porch. Not many steps, but I did check stuff off of my "Honey Do" list.
