sadness in a 'small town'

Last weekend a beloved member of our community was murdered.
Mr. Turner retired after 45 years in law enforcement. Never even had a scratch in 45 years of one of the most dangerous jobs.
Last weekend at a family event in Mississippi, his nephew shot him because he disagreed with something Mr. Turner said.
Mr. Turner was currently serving on the school board. He was also on the board at the YMCA. He gave so much to everyone.
Yesterday morning our church found out that one of our members had passed from a massive heart attack late Saturday. He retired from the fire department years ago. Everyone knows & loves him.
The flags at the schools and police buildings are flying at half staff for Mr. Turner. The flags at the fire stations are lowered for Harold.
The flag I saw when I walked over to the grocery this afternoon seems appropriate for the town's mood today.
