Corona Days

Thursday, March 19, 2020

What trying times we are living in. Hubby and I are in self-imposed isolation. We both have conditions that make this Corona virus particularly scary. We did take a quick trip out Monday for our usual bi-weekly groceries only to find the store sold out of TP, paper towels, facial tissues, flour, eggs and almost out of bread and napkins. The kind dairy manager did scrounge in the back walk-in for us and found eleven brown eggs and one white one for which we were most grateful as there were only two left at home.

Most of the state of Maine is supposed to be shut down, but I don't hesitate to say a TON of people are ignoring the request to STAY HOME. We live on a state road and there has been little to no decrease in the traffic that we can discern. I hope people will take to heart the fact that their actions impact everyone they come into contact with. Protect others and do as the Doctors on the TV are recommending. The life you save may be your own ot that of someone you love.

I have self isolated for some time due to my medical conditions. I must say that I have not been completely housebound as I had to return an Amazon item. I called the UPS store to make sure they were opened as many places have closed in our little part of Florida. We also took advantage to take a little walk while we were out.

We live in a mobile home park with many snow birds, of which we are two, Many of our neighbors have gone home already. I usually fly home before my husband who drives home. We are both not certain when we will return to Maine.

    Stay well.

Up here it seems like traffic has totally stopped, I drove home from Houlton from getting grain and groceries, mostly cat food and while there is not usually tons of traffic on 95 there was no one. My neighbor said going by his place has reduced to nothing too, we both live on route 11
