A Letter to Myself
Friday, June 05, 2020
I know this week has been rough. There's a lot of awful things going on in the world right now. It's okay if you don't have the "perfect" healthy week. Think of all the things that you're accomplishing right now. You're taking care of your family, supporting your friends, and making steps to advance your career. You're putting yourself out there and taking risks. Sometimes, when you're doing all these things, you'll just need to take a morning to cuddle in bed with your kid and watch Sailor Moon. This doesn't make you lazy or stupid. You have permission to take mental health days. Sometimes that's exactly what you need for your health.
Take time for yourself and then come back at that healthy lifestyle strong. Let go of all the calories you didn't burn and the meals you didn't prep. Don't try to make up for it, just get back to it. It took you 10 years to gain 90 lbs., one or two days does not make or break you. You're in this for the long haul, so you can't sweat the small stuff.
This is your LIFE. Don't spend it being miserable and hating yourself. You're building a better life, not a perfect one. You've got this! Enjoy the process. Feel yourself get stronger. Feel yourself getting better. You're already on your way and nothing can stop you but yourself.
