My focus on this journey over the past couple months has been moderation and consistency. Obviously, I've shifted to eating moderately at all times. No longer am I allowed to eat a whole bag of popcorn by myself or eat until I feel sick. I try to stick to single servings of things. One serving of cereal, one serving of milk, etc. Even if I'm craving something that might not be the best choice, I can allow myself ONE serving in a day. This keeps me from feeling deprived, but doesn't let me go overboard.

But I've also been trying to make sure that I'm only making moderate changes in my lifestyle. In the past, I've decided to "change my lifestyle" and tried to completely turn my life around immediately, which has only led to giving up a couple weeks into it. Yes, I'm making changes, but I'm not expecting too much. Some days I only exercise 10-15 minutes. I'm exercising every day now, so if I did 30-60 minutes each time, I know I'd end up exhausted or injured.

Oscar Wilde said, "Everything in moderation, including moderation." I'm really trying to live by this mantra now! No obsessing or overthinking!
