I retired Friday after a career of 44 years as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. My parting party was one for the memory books. I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of appreciation from my former students, colleagues and supervisors. Most touching were the sentiments of the Pathologists I frequently interact with.
My Church family was so happy with my announcement at services this morning. They want to know how many committees I want to serve on (LOL). As a STRONG introvert, that sort of thing isn't really in my comfort zone, so maybe just one.
Everyone wants to know what I plan to do now. I already nixed the idea of per diem work. I have a "TO DO" list longer than my right arm. I will be starting on some of those things this coming week. I want to spend more quality time with my DH, do some day-tripping around our adopted State of Maine, and do some travel around the good ol' USA once this pandemic finally passes. With less stress about projects around the house, DH and I did some volunteer work yesterday for our Church and it felt so wonderful we may do more of that sort of thing. We also want to do some walking and other fitness stuff. More to come as I get a little more into this new way of life.
