This year was supposed to be my easy year. After four years of going to school AND working full-time I was finally going to have more time for myself and self-care again. Then the world changed. My job is heavier than ever and like many other parents my children are learning at home. It's time to reach for balance. It's time to work on stress relief. Life is not going to get easier anytime soon. I looked through my old pictures and blogs, etc and feel like I have lost a little bit of myself. I miss the joy I found in the little things. I am going to work on making time for myself and being present.

What does this mean....

-I will start cooking again
-I will see beauty in the world around
-I will go on more adventures
-I will stop working all the time (work smarter not harder applies here)
-I will find new things I enjoy

This year has been *unprecedented*... wonder if that will be the word of the year. Sounds like a good list. what has help me.. is to also keep a gratitude journal where I write 3 to 5 things that I am grateful for each day. I miss a day here and there.... but it has really helped.

Those are all great things on which to focus! Meditation was a gamer changer for me. I began two years ago and I have to say that it just gets better and better.
I'm going on a wee adventure every week to see new things and walk in new places. I am taking more photos and I'm also thinking of new things to enjoy. In this blog I wrote just a few days ago, I describe how I am viewing the pandemic as giving me the gift of time.

We are all facing being set back a little. And we all need to find new things to do and focus on taking what we have and improve. Others have had it worse and overcame. We will do the same. Focus on how to improve and do it.
