December 1, 2020- Is it 2021 yet?

Hey, long time no blog. This pandemic has got me in a holding pattern and I am trying to give myself a better flight plan emoticon Anywho, I finally stepped outside for a REAL run last week for the first time since MARCH! It was nice and early, no one was up and I ran for just 30 minutes. I have given myself time frame goals. Not mileage or speed, just time outside running. It was an easy 1 mile or so and then my body was a little taken back at what I was asking it to do...turns out my nice healthy VO2 Max (if you care about that sort of thing) dropped from a pretty awesome 41 to 36! There are worse things but yes, I felt my lungs and heart working hard to keep my feet moving. Don't get me wrong, it felt good, but it reminded me where my fitness has fallen in this year of 2020.
At the end of the month I need to do a virtual HALF marathon I signed up for a few months back. The medal is AWESOME so it had to be done. So I am building up to that. This morning I got my 2nd outside run done! I was short on time due to equipment failures BUT I got 25 minutes in until I had to log on for work. That is the best part about working from home, nowadays. I can just sit down and do my work in sweaty running clothes and no one is the wiser, hehe.
