Almost Swimsuit Season- still need to lose the covid 19
Thursday, March 25, 2021
Spring has sprung! And due to last year's total lockdown and not much else to do at home but eat, so has my waistline. I was one of the many who gained the "covid 19" right around the belly, mostly. Now if I could just change my 2020 habits and drop the 20 pounds, all would be well! But now that I am back home again, as the doctor I previously worked for has permanently shuttered his business, the habitual "checking the fridge even when I'm not hungry" is still happening. My going out clothes haven't seen me in quite a while, and apparently they really missed me, because when I tried them on now they hugged me very tightly!
I'm way too old for swimsuit season and I donated the last swimsuit I had that fit a couple years ago. However, I still have high hopes of looking in the mirror some day and not being appalled at the shape I'm in. It's a strange thing to grow older and watch time wreak it's havoc on the body and metabolism. All the things youth offered that were always taken for granted suddenly just disappear. But the mind stays stuck there for a while, still expecting the body to look and behave as it once did, despite the preponderance of evidence in the mirror that that is no longer the case. Saying goodbye is hard.
So, finding the ever elusive new routine that will result in me not having an ever expanding waistline is the goal. While I'm not looking to get into a swimsuit again, I am striving for a slim healthy body, just for the health of it.. Getting out of the rut that got me here in the first place is the first step. Something needs to change!
The cluck cluck crew is doing fine- nothing new to report. I never tire of watching their funny antics and am still considering getting a couple new Easter chicks to add to the flock soon. They sure are cute when they're babies.
Hope all is well with the spark crew too. Happy Spring spark friends!
