Spring Break

Friday, April 02, 2021

It's the first day of spring break in our household and we were READY for it. My spring break to do list is lengthy because the number of times over the past few weeks that I said, "I'll take care of that during spring break." I'm having that internal conversation where I remind myself that this is supposed to be a BREAK and to take some me time while the other half of me is freaking out about the amount of things to be done.

I'm drinking some coffee now and checking in on Spark because I NEED to make this a priority. Spark helps me stay on track and I need to invest in it. I'd like to start blogging more regularly, even if it's just a quick note because I think it will help me keep track of my progress and I'm not really into journaling.

The past couple days I've been trying to get back on track for the Spring 5% Challenge. I've managed to workout and track all my calories. Wednesday I hit my range, but yesterday I ended up going over. I got home from school (I'm part time there and come home for lunch) and was STARVING and ended up eating more calories than I had allotted for lunch, after which I took a nap. I then had that overwhelming urge to just throw the towel in for the day since I had ruined the afternoon. But I managed to pick myself up, workout, and eat what I had planned for dinner.

I did a really fun workout yesterday! It was a full body workout inspired by the Disney movie Mulan. I love this YouTube workout girl name Kyra Pro. She does lots of cardio dance workouts inspired by Broadway musicals and Disney, which my son and I love. Here's a link to the Mulan workout:

I'm planning on going for a jog today but it's pretty cold outside. Commence the inner battle!

I am helping with the afterschool program in the area it's on ZOOM. THere are 15 kids on an average 8 to 10 show. It's quite interesting on ZOOM as you may well know. They are in grades 2 to 5th. They engage well though not in person for the most part. It's so cute!!

Blogging daily really helps me keep on track! And I also love Kyra Pro! Her dance workouts are intense but fun. I like ZDancerLiz when I need something a bit less intense, and Zumba Sulu has some good ones too

Good for you not letting the slip up derail your entire day.
I well understand "starving" when coming home from school.
My kids still talk about the time Mom ate the whole pie.
Hang in there. Stay connected here. The program works.
