Doing a little more each day

I'm so discouraged! It seems no matter how well I think that I'm doing, it's just not enough. The scales are definitely not my friend. I really don't feel like I over indulged this weekend and yet I'm at the heaviest weight that I've ever been. I won't give up!

Today I am giving blood. It's a little thing that I can do to help others out.

    I gave blood today. I didn't know it takes 48hrs to replace the volume!

    Weight is so hard to shift permanently. I ate a bigger meal than usual on Easter Sunday - had a small dessert, and a soft fizzy drink. Next day the scale was up almost 4lbs. Easter Monday I ate carefully and on Tuesday I was back down 2lb. Ate carefully on Tuesday and I was 2.75lb down this morning!

    I'm 66 yrs old, and it's taken me my entire life to figure out the right 'diet' for me - and not let other people argue with me about it. I have to stay away from bread, anything made with flour, keep potato and rice to a minimum, stay off sugar and alcohol. And that's about it. As soon as I eat anything with flour, sugar, or alcohol my weight goes up!

    Keep working on yourself - and figuring out what works for you.
