"Curb side " is terrible!---

Have any of you ever used "Curb side" pickup--from a store?
Last night I spent an hour -online-trying to order the grass seed ONLINE--
The whole order flew off the screen, including my Visa number--
So I called the number provided--"No problem", she said--I'll do the order for yu."
After an hour, with her getting my email address wrong--then the Visa number--I gave up--
We live in a small town-- I called Debby at her home. She works at that store here in town.
She called this morning and has the grass seed by the front door for me---

Complications of a lockdown, which now has been extended here until mid May--

And Prince Phillip's funeral is to-day, across the pond--the Duke of Edinburgh---I am mentioning him because he seemed like such a good person--loyal to his wife--his children--
kind--and such a good example of Royalty----someone who was the head of his family-loved his Grandchildren--an example of a life well lived!

So, Himself and I are heading to town --to do the "CURB SIDE" thing--to pick up that grass seed.
Tess the German (as in older than old)-dog--seems peppier-- has walked with me-"-hoofed it" as Dad used to say-- even ate an egg---and some dry kibble-
I shall be out walking farther when I return home--

There is always more time on a weekend to play a few pieces on the piano--and to dance up the back road with music in my ears---

Lord love a Duck! It is so important to not take "stuff" too serious-- sez me---the worrier!

It’s the store’s computer’s fault. Been doing curbside for years, no problems like that. Switched to delivery last March, still doing that. Glitchy computer is likely, especially if it’s a new service,

We watched the funeral this morning. It was very moving. Today the queen is just a woman who is mourning her lifelong companion.

I've not done much retail "curb side", but definitely do the groceries to pick up, and they do enough of that they have the kinks worked out by now. I've also done a lot of retail delivery.

We'll get this figured out, and if enough of us get our jabs, we'll tamp it down, and get the variants under control? emoticon emoticon

Lynda, the pandemic is such an unusual thing that many times we don't know how to react. Curbside I have never done but many people seem to use it. Hope your day goes well. Enjoy the day! emoticon

Also have never used curbside. I've collected some cute masks--if any mask is truly cute--and hope that won't need to keep using them for too much longer. The numbers here have gone down drastically. I hate wearing those masks, fogging up my glasses. I hope the politicians get more realistic as the numbers of people getting both shots keeps going up.

So happy Tess is better and your curb side worked! I have not tried this yet. Prince Phillip was such a wonderful man.

I have had good luck with curbside. . . knock on wood (tap tap) I have done it at Kohls, Joanne Fabric, Lowes and the Walgreens . . .so far so good.
Have a nice ride. Glad Tess is peppier

I watched the funeral for Prince Philip and it was lovely - dignified and simplistic, just as he wanted.

Glad you'll have your grass seed and good luck with doing your own lawns this year Lynda.

Weekends do feel different than the other days of the week, don't they!

I haven’t tried delivery but I did try the pick up once. The canned goods were fine but the produce was awful! That was the only time too. I guess I’m just too picky.

I haven't used curb side, but my daughter does, and I have been with her when she has done a pick up. It was smooth and easy! I am hoping you also have a good experience with Debby, since your online experience wasn't wonderful! Praise God Tess is doing so much better!!

So sorry the curbside process was a bust! The good thing living in a smaller area is being able to make the informal arrangement. Glad Tess is improving. 🐾💕

Life is full of such frustrations. We just need to learn to not let them get to us. I don't do curbside for groceries. I want to select my own fresh produce, Thank you very much! We only venture into the local market every two weeks to limit our exposure even though we are both fully vaccinated. I almost wish they would go back to allowing only 1 person per family-that would keep the candy bars, potato chips and all out of the grocery cart! emoticon

So glad to read that Tess is doing better. Hoping she continues to improve. emoticon

I am lucky my daughter works at the store so brings the groceries home. They do curb side and they deliver to the customer.
This pandemic seems to be lasting forever. I had my 2 shots so figured no more wearing a mask but no, you have to wear the mask. Now they are talking another shot so does this go on and on?! I don't go out much but i have trouble looking down in front of me when walking wearing a mask or trying to look at a total. I still feel breathing in our own used air is about as unhealthy as you can do to yourself. Will it ever end?? Will everybody wear the masks hoping to cut down on covid cases? I doubt it, they don't care about anybody else.
Glad Tess is eating better so is feeling better. Linda, good job sticking to it, don't let anything set you back. emoticon emoticon

Sounds like you are getting things under control with a few bumps in the road. Just watched the funeral from England....Interesting & nothing like I'd see here in my small town. Looks to be a beautiful day with yard work ahead.

I have been using curbside for my groceries for a year now. A bit challenging the first time or two but it is wonderful and I doubt that I will go back to in store shopping. Canadain Tire and Home Hardware are only doing curbside. The pet Food Sore, same thing. Even the Veterinarian. Make an appointment. Put the cat in a carrier, take it to the door. They will pick it up, take it in, do what is necessarey and bring it back to the door while you wait. Pay everything with Mastercard or Visa when you place the order or make the appt. The Library was bringing a book to curbside for you but that has stopped now as well. Only e-books available on line from the library. This is the new normal so we better get used to it.

I've had good luck with curb side though I usually prefer to go to the grocery myself and choose what I want and get in the added steps. I had the groceries delivered for a couple of months after hubby had his stroke. One store was really good about calling if they couldn't find a specific item. I only did Walmart a couple of times. It seems they would just throw in whatever they thought was close.

I hope that your day goes even better than planned.

It is good to know that Tess is beginning to improve.

At least living in a small town, you have people like Debbie who give you personal service.

Yes - the curb side thing can be difficult! emoticon

I ordered some groceries which included 3 small cans of tomato sauce (3oz), and a special type of dry cat food...... emoticon emoticon

So when my order arrived I was surprised that there were 3 large cans (29 oz) of tomato sauce and not the type of dry cat food that I needed...... emoticon

Oh well, guess I will be making a lot of spagetti sauce or something - and will donate the wrong cat food to the local animal shelter. emoticon

You are so lucky to know the right person to call to get your order in. The curb side pickup part of it is easier though. We have used it a few times for essential things. I’m so happy that Tess is doing better and hope it continues. Have a good day! emoticon emoticon

Life can be challenging in a Pandemic. Just when they tell us things are getting better it seems people relax too much and then things get worse. I've never done Curb Side - I hope at least that part goes well for you.
