Dental Update, Part 2

So I have had a lot of pain where the hole is and the molar used to be since last Tuesday evening when the tooth was pulled. On Wednesday, I didn't work, and I worked only partial days on Thursday and Friday. I wasn't good for much either day and didn't accomplish very much as it felt very difficult to get even the simplest of tasks done. Yesterday, the dentist called and she prescribed me Tylenol with Codeine, which I picked up after work yesterday. Yesterday, I took that Tylenol with dinner at 6 pm and was in bed at 7:30 and passed out by 8 pm. I slept well all night and work up at 5:45 am feel better though still sore and stiff. But I got up and took pain pills and made coffee. The heat from the coffee seems to help relax my jaw!

I have been eating a very different diet the last couple of days, as I am limited as to what I can eat. Lots of pasta and packaged noodles and canned soup as those slide down easily and require no chewing, along with bananas, applesauce, and mashed potatoes. I am retaining a lot of water from all the sodium I have been consuming, so I am determined to make some homemade soups this weekend with little sodium in them so that I lose some of this water weight. I was up 3 lbs. on Wednesday! emoticon I am going to make Egyptial Lentil Soup and Split Pea Soup. With both of those, I will have enough food for all of next week.

I go to see the dentist in one week for a post-op consult. I will get my stitches out and a spacer placed in the hole to keep it open for when the implants are put in this summer or fall. So I have to stay on my mostly liquid/mushy foods diet for another week. The stitches are getting super itchy as the hole heals, but there's nothing I can do about that. Ugh!

Today I'm Grateful For...
1) Painkillers.
2) That I got my $600 California stimulus check this last week. It went to pay part of my dental bills.
3) That I am feeling a little bit better this morning, though I will probably need a nap this afternoon. emoticon
