"Do what you can, where you are, with what you have."

I have always attributed this quote to Eleanor Roosevelt - but Google tells me it was Teddy Roosevelt who said it.

No matter. Whichever one of the Roosevelts said it - I am agreeing with this concept more and more these days.

Now that I am in the second half of my seventies - I am no longer interested in waiting for results to happen... or for 'if only' dreams to come true.
TODAY is how things ARE.

As a bit of a lifelong dreamer, I am someone who has always had a habit of looking to the future for something ELSE to come...

I am now looking for solutions in the present--HERE and NOW.

The ideal possibilities of the future are being replaced by the practical, pragmatic choices that are possible today.

For me, NOW is the most important time there is. NOW is how things are.

I am not interested in waiting for the RIGHT conditions.
I will do what I can to work under the CURRENT conditions.

Perfectionism is gone forever. It is no longer what 'should be;'
Instead, it is accepting 'what IS' and working with it.

Along with the unwillingness to WAIT for future possibilities...
comes the ACCEPTANCE of what already exists.

It is a complete shift in a way of thinking.

I am accepting today as it IS .....
along with a determination to appreciate it and cherish it....

No more looking for something OTHER...SOMEDAY...
Instead, it is all about.....
Living and celebrating TODAY.

"Do what you can, where you are, with what you have."
