As I was looking at the tulip my daughter planted years ago, I noticed it had been joined by a couple of other tulips. Either someone else has planted tulips in a highly inaccessible location or my tulip has spread. I think it's unlikely someone else planted more tulips because that spot really can best be seen from the front seat of my car as I pull into the carport. I hadn't heard that tulips spread like irises, but I guess it's possible. Now I have three clumps of tulips to look at.

You're right about the tulips! I was out weeding my flowerbed today and realized my tulips have spread all across the front of the bed and are working their way up the side. They are stunted (smaller than they used to be) and in reading about it online, I think it may be that as they spread they also got crowded. Told DH we can dig up the bulbs and spread them out in the fall. Both of us decided we'd give it some thought when the time comes. Sounds like a lot of work, and by then we aren't even sure where the tulps bulbs ARE!
