First we had to find out about SparkPeople shutting down through a sharp eyed EUROPEAN Sparker who saw a buried notice in a resource thread.

Then there was no response or communication from staff to all those commenting and asking questions.

The daily email was sent out as usual with the same old stuff.
No mention of the big news

Today lines of communication are being shut down one by one
"Error messages" when trying to access a spark page etc.

I visited the new corporate directed SparkAmerica.
Don't feel bad non USA sparkers, you aren't missing much.

I tend to avoid FB but will check out the page eventually

Thanks to all those sharing their contact information
The friends I've met here have been a great influence in my life.

Special thanks to Anja (4A-Healthy-BMI) for her quick thinking and tech savvy in launching a "lifeboat" for those of us who want to maintain the connections and aspects of Spark that have keep us coming back and logging in year after year.

She created a Google Group so we can continue supporting
maintainers and aspiring maintainers. Please note that EVERYONE
presumably aspires to maintain - even if that day may seem far off.
The AG&M+TM team has been inclusive, and the Google Group is too.
Please don't feel like you have to be "at or near goal" to join! Just
have maintenance on the horizon, even if you're just preparing early.

Here's the URL:

Note: If you have trouble joining using the above link, send her a
SparkMail message with your email address and she'll send you a direct
"invitation" to join, via email.

So many features of Spark aren't working this morning.
Maybe the remaining staff is heading for the exits?

Edit: After several hours, Spark features seem to be working again.
