Pre-damage control

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

I'm contemplating going to a taste-fest this weekend. I have no illusions about being able to stay within any goal range: calories, fat, carbs, sodium, will be all blown to hell. If I go. So what I have to consider is: how much damage will it do; am I willing to try to mitigate said damage with increased cardio; will this one day cause me to have a gain for the week? I’ve got time to think this over.
Ah hah, I’ve got it! If I get 180 minutes of cardio between now and Sunday, I’ll go. If not, I’ll stay at home and eat like I’m supposed to.

Ooh Wee..I was thinking about this one too. There is an Italian festival this weekend (I LOVE ITALIAN FOOD!) But I know that pasta and cheese heaven would quickly turn into hell for me. I'm just not going. I'm making my own Italian food at home minus the carbs! You know you better than anyone, no doubt you'll do what's best for you..you BADASS BUTTERFLY!

I read here somewhere that someone has a 2 taste rule.. she lets herself have 2 tastes of whatever she wants but no more.. I know I am not ready to go to something like that yet. Today I passed on the chocolate temptation tho.. the instructors boyfriend sent her a box of candy to the class.. i had no problem saying no. I had a apple and was completely satisfied.
********** Only you know your strengths Lynn.. I guess you just have to question the hard work you have been doing and figure out if you are willing to sacrifice any of it? Or it could be a huge test that you win..

    Big hugs to you,

I like that, set a goal and a reward, and go for it! Taste-fest sounds fun. I wouldn't be able to resist, either. I know a woman who loses 10 pounds every year right before the holidays so she can gorge herself all season and not feel guilty and end up at her normal weight again when it was all over.
