Valuing Myself

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

I watched the Oprah special today showcasing people who have lost huge quantities of weight. The woman who lost 560 pounds said her turn around came when she met friends on line who valued her. She slowly learned to value herself and that is what made her start taking care of herself. She said that the realization that she as a human being has value since she is human was the key to her weight loss.

This is so very true. I have worked on treating myself as I would a friend for many years. I am posting this as a reminder to myself should I go into "temporary amnesia" that I am a valuable human being.

One of the thingst I love about this site is the opportunity to interact with so many people and to see the value in them. In doing so I also see reflected back my value as another human.

:::nods::: i'm sorry i missed it. i read what I could on her website and that woman lost over 500 lbs. I've been stuck between 20 - 30 because of internal attitudes.... trying to fix those... and to value myself. it's a shamed we internalized the wrong message ~ fixing it is hard.
