I am finding that to be the case. I am learning to be patient. To have realistic expectations.

MORTICIAADDAMS, I believe small steps are the way to go. Too much too soon can be overwhelming and discouraging.

I've been making small changes and they are helping me a lot right now. I'm getting back to basics. Cutting back where I can. Not trying to make too many changes too quickly.

DAISYPETAL, a few years ago I met with a Registered Dietitian when my lab work was not looking good. She put a name to it - Insulin Resistance - I started a 1500 calorie a day plan with 160 gms of carbs a day 45 at breakfast, 45 at lunch, 45 at dinner, and 15 each for 2 snacks. I lost 24 pounds in 3 months, it just melted off & without exercise.

The more I followed it the less I ate because I was not hungry and did not crave the carbs. Protein with every carb. Daily serving of a healthy oil / fat. Unfortunately 2 years after that I had a major surgery and everything went out the window. I started to follow it again in April and have lost 10 pounds so far.

On a good day I eat under 100 gms and 1000 calories, not because I try but because I don't think about eating when I am not craving carbs.

Every time I count carbs I loose weight. Every time I don't count carbs I gain weight.

Sounds simple but it's not. If it was simple I would not need to be here emoticon

I've lost 10 pounds since April 3 by tracking carbs and calories. But I am not fooled into believing the next 35 will be easy.

I hope being on this team will help keep me on track and focused.
