I would like to welcome you to NH Sparkers and thank you for reading this!

Here is a short list of the things to help you thru your first few days on Sparks.

To start off, it is most helpful to always go and create your Spark page and visit your Sparkpoints page first. Right there is the list of things you can do to earn Sparkpoints. (Sparkpoints are nothing more than virtual points you accumulate and move into bigger and better virtual trophies. Neither the Sparkpoints nor trophies are redeemable for cash or prizes but they are motivating to earn.)

On the Sparkspoints page you will see the list of daily challenges such as logging the food you have eaten or reading informative health articles. You will see the list of Daily Challenges that you can do along with the One Time Challenges, the Diet Stage Challenges, and the Bonus/Milestone Challenges. The Daily Challenges are fun and helpful. Do not feel that you must max out your points earned every day. (But feel free to do that, if you so desire!) Do as much as you feel like doing because Sparks should never feel like a burden! Additionally, the Sparks website is very good at leading you thru all the stages and as you progress thru these various stages, you will see buttons to press when it is time to move on to the next stage. So feel free to check your Sparkpoints page daily so that you can stay on top of your daily challenges as well as see what is coming up next. Plus that page is a nice leaping point to find many other pages.

When I first started, I found the Nutrition and Fitness tracking pages a bit intimidating! The beauty of those two pages is that they have a How Do I use This Page button that is rather helpful explaining how to use the page. And no need to fret. If you are unhappy with what you have created, then start over since nothing is written in cement! As far as the food eaten, you can choose to go with the suggested Sparks meal plan or you can go it on your own and stay within the calorie and nutrient limits they suggest. The point here is to go with whatever will work for you because a diet and/or exercise plan are doomed to failure if you give up because you do not like it. So be sure to set up your nutrition and exercise plans in a way that will work for you without being too hard or too easy. Be sure that you can stay motivated with your plans so that you will actually stay with them and reap the rewards of your hard work!

Most important, have fun with the Sparks website because the only way it will work is if you stay with it!

Do not be afraid to start a new thread, that will only make our team better!
