I hope the same message will help me lose 50 lbs.

Yes, it is do-able! YOu can get down 50 pounds by next year. It does come off faster if you are actually obese though, as I experienced when I first began sparking. I have had the hardest time losing the last little bit of weight, but you can get there, and I find that staying connected on sparkpeople is a great way to stay on track. And, tracking food here also helps, a LOT!

So, stick around. It is good that you went mostly vegetarian. I eat meat, but in limited quantities also. I choose kosher when I do, but I have found that red meat is hard on my system. So, I usually eat polutry of specific types of fish. Anyway, yes, you can do it!

It is nice to meet you!
Sorry I did not reply to you for so long, I feel accountable because I co-lead this team! I just get very busy. I am a student, and with all my studying, I really relate t you on sitting around for a long time. It is hard to force myself to get up and go, but I do it. I get around, eventually :)

See you around!

I like to do Web development and I am a Computer Science major at Mills College.

Hi I just joined today and I'm counting on all of your expertise to help me shed 50 lbs by next year. Is it really doable?
As a writer I sit for over 8 hours every day almost 300 days a year. I live 6 months of the year in our 25 foot trailer in a gold mining camp near Columbia where I wrote my novel Without Consent by Virginia R. Degner. I love this mountain area and fell in love with the historic gold rush town of Columbia Ca where I set my mystery/ romance. I try to walk daily about 2 miles but when I'm in the middle of a book or as I am right now the screen play of Without Consent I find myself tied to my computer and then it's time for dinner and I get distracted.
I live the other six months from October through till April in Castro Valley where I plunge into my winter activities such as the getting ready for the holidays and attend weekly Rotary luncheons. It's a nice life and I appreciate it, however, it's pretty sedentary. What can I do to be more active?
I am 3/4 vegetarian out of health necessity since I have to limit my protein to around 25mg per day because of a kidney problem. I never want to go on dialysis and so far by limiting my protein I am able to stay in a "normal" range with my blood tests.
So this is who I am. I look forward to getting your replies to my message.
Sincerely,
Virginia R. Degner
