Hey Everyone!

My name is Tracey. I am a 31 (might as well say 32 birthday is tomorrow Sep 17th :) hoping to use this team as added motivation along with other teams I've joined. I have teenage son who has began to walk with me when I walk which helps alot with motivation because he asks me everyday if I'm going for a walk and even when I don't want to he pushes me to go! I've been on SP for about a month and a half and I've already lost close to 15lbs, so I'm doing something right. I hope to meet many of you who are also on this lifestyle journey!

I too found this website while looking for some support for losing weight. I don't really know what led me here but I'm enjoying having the calorie calculating done for me. I'm about 35lbs over weight and I'm used to eating a lot of food. I often think I've eaten hardly anything and then after charting my food intake I realize I've eaten 1500 calories. I'm hoping to be 20lbs lighter by my fiftieth birthday in November.

Hello Team Members: Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to team members. I joined SparkPeople on July 30 so have been working this for one week. I have been busy tracking and learning about the website. I have made no progress this week but have been having sleep issues also. It seems that I have been spending a lot of time on the computer figuring all this out which does not leave me with much time to do the other things that need to be done.

Hi everyone,

This is the first time I ever signed up for any weight lose program and I'm hoping that this will help me. I'm wanting to lose 125 lbs. and be a lot more healthy. I was 110 lbs in high school and now I'm 252 lbs and I have had three children and did not gain the weight until several years after my youngest was born. I think that I gain it because I was bored and unhappy but now I'm ready to lose. I'm still trying to get used to the web site and see what there is out there. Hello everyone. My name is Megan. I'm a little bit late with the introduction, but I've been using the past week or so to just get used to the site and learn my way around. I'm 26 years old and currently weigh 250 pounds. Not quite my heaviest, but pretty close. I have a long way to go, but am determined to make it. In general I'm pretty shy and quiet (more of a listener than a talker) so joining the team and making a post isn't something I would typically jump at. But there was a SPARK article I read that says the members who use the message boards and forums are likely to lose more weight than those who don't. So I'm challenging myself and deciding to go at this new lifestyle with my best efforts. Reading through the other intro. posts, there seem to be many wonderful people here and I look forward to sharing the ups & downs of our challenges with you.

My Goals: Obviously to lose the weight. But my #1 goal is to learn to be happy with myself. It seems to make alot of things less daunting when you have inner happiness. Just by following my FastBreak goals for these first few weeks, I'm already feeling better and more confident!

Hi, everyone! My name is Catherine. I am 22 years old and live in Alamogordo, NM. I've actually joined sparkpeople several times, but I always let life get in the way. Last time, I had actually lost about 15 pounds and had gotten to be just within a normal weight range for my height. I gained about 5 pounds back in the 4 months I've been away, and I have about 20-25 to lose.

Hi, I'm Bri. I live in the Missouri Ozarks. I am new to this site, found the app on my iPod when I was looking through different apps, 8 days later, here I am. I am 5' 8" and weigh 215 lbs. My goal is to get down to at least 180 lbs. My smaller goal is to hopefully lose 5lbs. per month, if I can do that, then I should reach my goal of 180 by about febuary or march. THen my next goal would be to go down to 150 lbs, so my bmi will be good.

I found this site with search on online communities a few days ago. I really like it so far, but I am sitting a lot in front of the computer both at home and at work, so joining here is also a risk to me. I have to balance my online presence and my other tasks.

At first I want a "run-up cycle" with introductions and browsing on the site which can take some time watching the display, but after that I want to focus on actual activities and keep virtual life on a moderate level.

Hi, I'm Zee. :) I really want to lose the weight that I have been yo-yoing and stressing over for the last... 12 years?! I'm 25 and 5'9", right now I weigh about 175. My highest weight has been about 180, and I'd love to get down to around 150, where I haven't been in 8 years!!!

I love weightlifting and go 3x a week, and I'm trying to get back into running after a bunch of injuries. Sometimes I go to a Zumba (how fun!!!) or yoga class at the gym.

I'm applying to nursing school and right now I'm in a CNA class. I'd love to meet some people who want a motivation buddy or who have similar goals.

Hi I'm Mary, a 22 year old, almost done with Cosmetology school and sick and tired of feeling horrible about the way I look and my weight. I'm tired of hating my body, and how its always hard to find clothes that fit and being uncomfortable all day. Hi everyone! I'm Kristin, a 28 year old wife, mommy and high school French teacher. After a very stressful year (which I won't go into here, but you can visit my SparkPage if curious), I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and take control of my stress/depression related eating. My long term goal is to lose 38 pounds (taking me down to 130), but my first short-term goal is to be down to 160 for the start of the new school year on August 30th. Hey All, I'm Luna. I'm 32 and a stay at home mum to my first child a 11 month old boy. I joined SP in the hope to lose the weight I put on when I fell pregnant with T. I have always had a weight problem and lost 50 kg before falling pregnant.

I'm not following any diet per-say except for smart healthy eating and exercise.

Exercise:
20 mins Zumba
40 mins powerwalking
Strength training every second day

I want a program I can do for the rest of my life, and I think SP can do that for me, as well as the support and motivation I do need.

Hi everyone, I'm Kristi (most people call me Kiki) and i'm 30 yo. I've just joined sparkpeople.com and am looking to lose 14 lbs by mid-September!! Hi. My name is Kristina. I am a 41 year old mother of three, 5 year old twin boys and a 6 year old daughter. I have always struggled with my weight, but until I was nursing my daughter and pregnant with twins (read: I could eat a LOT and didn't gain an ounce!) my problem was minimal. After nursing my three for a total of 3.5 years, the bad habits hit me hard. When I stopped nursing the weight was gained VERY quickly and here I am 3 years later still dealing with it.

I have about 80 pounds to lose and would love a buddy to share the journey with. I am brand new to this site and am still figuring it all out.

Hey everyone! I have just started too - I really want to get more active and be more committed to living a healthy lifestyle...I guess like a lot of you I know the theory of eating healthily, exercising regularly etc etc but real life gets in the way and I don't always make the best choices (plus my sofa is just too darn comfy :p) I really feel good about my decision to change and live more healthily though, and this website is amazing, full of advice and info.

Hi everyone!! My name is Gemma, I am 24 years old. I work in education, have been married to my best friend since May 21, 2010, and have a Shih Tzu named Cooper. I joined Spark People because during college I gained the freshmen 15 plus an additional 45 lbs. I have been "trying" to get back to my old size but have always lacked the drive and motivation. Hello Everyone!!

As my Username implies, it's my goal to lose 80 pounds and it's my hope to shed that weight by next spring and if successful I will be at my ideal weight which I was when I got married 6 years ago.

I am looking forward to reaching my ultimate weight loss goal. However along the way I am going to enjoy reaching smaller goals as I count down the pounds.

So I am very excited and extremely motivated to get going.......this time around. emoticon

I was reading some of the post, I have some of the same feelings. Doing really well then falling off the band wagon. I really want to do this, I really want to be lighter before going to work in late August. I know I can do this I once lost 25 pounds. I'm making the choice now to eat better and exercise.

Hi,
I am 47 years old, divorced with three kids, (28, 21 and 18) and one grand daughter who is 5 months old. I am originally from MN born and raised but moved to Colorado in June 2008. I am the foundation director at our local community college and love my job. I am also a full-time student at the University of Phoenix (onlin) with six months to go before completing my bachlors degree in communications/communications technology. Since I sit in front of a computer most of the day and a couple of hours in the evening, I have really packed it on the last couple of months. I have had some health problems recently and realize that my diet, lack of exercise and rotten eating habits have contributed significantly to my inability to lose weight. I hope to gain some insignt into eating healthier, exercisng more, becoming more motivated and making some better decisions in regards to my health. I look forward to working with people on this site and sharing my successes and failures just as everyone else has been doing. My goal is to lose 50 lbs, develop better eating habits and exercise more.
