I am Shelly and I live in Texas. I am married and have 2 children, ages 22 and 14. I love animals and have dogs, cats, fish, and a snake in our household. Being outdoors is the best! Reading and scrapbooking are another all time favorite of mine. I also teach English for grades 6 - 12.

Hi,
My name is Maya and I am 31 yrs old. I started SparkPeople in Sept. 2010 after working on some changes on my own. Between 5/10 and 12/10 I lost around 40lbs. This makes me unbelievably proud. However, for the last year I have just maintained the same weight. While I'm quite happy with this, I never reached my goal weight and I lost all of my momentum. I'm hoping this challenge will help kickstart me back towards the place I would like to be.

Hello my name is Jennifer. I'm 34 years old mother of three boys. I was doing really well with sparkpeople over the past three years I lost the baby fat from my third son and I had started building some muscle and toning up. Then back in October I got laid off from my job. I found a what I thought was a great new job, but all I've gotten from this job is a lot of stress. I've lost a lot of weight almost 10 lbs, I don't eat well and I'm always tired and sick. I want to get back to how I felt in October.

Hi my name is Diana. I have been a member in Sparks since 2007. I learned how to make a habit of exercising every day, and have toned up. I know I am still over weight from the scale, and other factors, but I am healthy and stronger, because of Sparks. I find it a lot harder to loose now that i am in my mid 60s, and also due to struggling with a sluggish thyroid. But I feel really good, can't wait to start this new challenge. I did three challenges last year, and it was a blast. I am from the NW hills of Ct. Diana emoticon

Hi, I'm Katy from Florida. I'm a 21 years old senior in college studying Humanities. I'm engaged to a wonderful man who I met in 9th grade homeroom-when I was 13 and he was 14. We plan to elope in Rome and honeymoon in Venice in late 2012/early 2013. We have a 1.5 year old cat named Dharma and a mixed-breed rescue dog named Starbuck who just turned one. I've lost over ten pounds over the past few weeks through Weight Watchers and I plan to reach my goal weight by my wedding.

Hello! I'm Melissa from Virginia. I am a happily married mother of 3. I work 2 part time jobs and I'm a Practical Nursing Student. I have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and hypothyroidism. As you can see I need to lose weight for health reasons but also for my future occupation. I will not be able to stay on my feet all day and lift patients if I do not get into better shape. This challenge is just what I need to get fired up and motivated to accomplish my weight loss goals. Good luck everyone!

Hello, all.

I've been struggling with my weight off and on since my first pregnancy (2004-2005), and have had issues keeping the weight off (unexplained gain/inability to lose).

I recently discovered a thyroid problem, and am looking forward to a NEW effort to lose the weight and hopefully KEEP it off this time! The last time, I lost around 50 lbs, but gained back about half that. I'd like to lose about 60 lbs from where I am now (although, to be fair, I'd be delirious with 40, as I would be lighter than I have been since that first pregnancy!)

My name's Emma and I've been on sparkteens since 2008. I've recently moved up, because of my age, and I am really hoping to get the support I need here. I'm going to be a Freshman in college in the fall and not only do I want to lose weight, but I want to learn how to be healthy, and know what I am putting into my body, and not only that but care more. I currently weigh about 180lbs and am 5'3. My goal weight is 125lbs, which is healthy for my height. Hi everyone!

I lost 50 lbs with sparkpeople a couple of years ago, YEA! & then had some issues this fall and put 30 lbs back on. :(

I'm looking forward to using this challenge as a way to jumpstart taking those 30 lbs back off again, and then take another 30 off as well. 2012 is the year I reach my goal & stay there! I'm getting healthy for good this time!!

Way to go to all of you starting this challenge with me, it's an awesome step in the right direction, & we can do it!!

Hello, my name is Jackie. I'm a 54 y.o. lady from central Texas. I have been working out and watching my nutrition since June 2, 2011. So far, I've lost 55 lbs. I have improved my blood pressure and no longer require medication to control it. I have decided that I not only want to look great, but I want to be strong and healthy.

Hello! Stephanie from Chicago here. I started out on SP back in 2008: did well, lost some weight, but then got derailed by the birth of our second child. I came back briefly in 2010, and hoping to be back to stay this time! Like others, I, too, have problems with consistency (as you can tell), and I'm hoping this challenge will help me make certain healthy behaviors habits, so I don't get derailed again.

My name is Roberta. I live in Dayton, OH (Southside). I'm a teacher and the biggest challenge I have is carving out the time to exercise and avoiding all the snacks that surround me at work and home. I'm a snacker. I am looking to lose about 100 pounds - it took me 20 years to slowly put it on and I know it will take time and work to get it off. Hello everyone. I have been a member since 2008 and have not taken advantage of everything spark has to offer. I have not been very successful at keeping weight off. I lost 25 lbs. in 2010 and regained 15 lbs back over 2011. I love to exercise but not consistant. I am joining this challenge to bring consistancy to my life if that is possible. I do not have a typical week and its hard to maintain consistancy and I get distracted by the changes in my week and it's hard for me to stay on task. So hopefully this challenge will be helpful. Hopefully you all succeed at this challenge.

Hello! I'm Emiliana and I'm a June 2012 bride!

I'm looking to loose that lovely holiday weight that I so easily put on. I'm also looking to start at a great habit in the new year of working out most days (Sundays to rest and family, etc).

Looking forward to a positive month!

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.

Hi, all! I've lost over 60lbs (my high school weight was clinically obese around 240, I'm 25 yrs old now) and I was most proud of the 20 I lost this year... until...! I've only gained back a little, but I lost my mojo (see my blog)

Hi everyone, my name is Marianne and I've lost 30 pounds since joining SP in June. Working on my own, I lost 17 pounds before SP, so I've lost 47 pounds in 2011. This has been hard work, and I'm determined to keep this weight off, so I'm joining this challenge to build a routine of daily exercise, which I now lack. I have 11 pounds to goal, but also flabby muscle tone that could be improved.

Brenda here. I was waiting for a new year's challenge. I love challenges. I think the list of goals is helpful for me. I started back on SP at the beginning of December. My goals are to lose about 35 more pounds, lower my blood pressure, and fight depression. I am thrilled to be onboard for this challenge.

There will be days I don't know if I can do a marathon. There will be a lifetime of knowing that I have.

OOPS, did it in the wrong spot. Hi, I'm Christine and I just started challenge today. I did my first video, and will take a walk later for my cardio. I had an awsome year last year, got my Bacherlor's degree in Social Work, and got married! emoticon Next year I will start on my Master's degree, and I want it to be the year that I lose weight!
