Morning!

I joined up yesterday, but today is the day that all the real work begins!

I am a married mom of 2-teen boys. I was recently let go from my job so I have a LOT of time on my hands all of a sudden. I decided to use this as an opportunity to focus on improving ME! I go to school in August to change my career path a bit and I am preparing for weight loss surgery as well.

I'm so excited and happy to be here!

My husband and I talked for months we need to loose weight, but it stay at talking. I do not like cooking, so I have no idea what really are good stuff and what are not. Monday morning my husband jump on the scale and almost start crying. Well that was the turning point. That same day a friend told me of this wonderful site. Hi everyone!

This is probably my 4th return to sparkpeople since 2010. I have used other accounts/plans/etc but I love the community support and resources here! I have a lot to lose, and I am coming to terms with the fact that it will take quite a while. I have been finding and creating a healthy lifestyle for myself for a few years now, and as I learn along the way I have had ups and downs but recently its been more ups on the scale. But also ups in learning what habits I actually enjoy. I am very body positive so the scale isn't my primary focus, but creating and maintaining healthy habits is. I look forward to seeing you all progress!

We are what we repeatedly, excellence then is not an act but a habit.

TRISH - An excellent introduction to yourself - the whole idea of working on ourselves for part of everyday is so important.

For some of us of a shorter size - the challenges are sometimes even more demanding. I would like to post an invite to my Team - Petite Place. We attempt to share ideas, tips and tricks to keep weight management as our goal.

Hi, I actually joined last night so Sparkpeople put me in a different class. I hope it's okay that I joined here since today is my real Day one!

Hi there,

As I said in my welcome e-mail. My name is Trish, and I have been with SparkPeople since 2006. Along the way there have been many ups and downs, but I have learned a ton about myself, my body, and where I want to be in my life. I remember clearly how it felt to start my journey here. I was so excited, a little afraid of the unknown, ready to go gung ho into the unknown. The first month was a push-pull of emotions. I want to do this, but do I want to do this?

I have 2 kidlets, Josh (14), and Missy (16), who are very active in sports and the arts. They keep me moving for sure! Our lives are very busy, and sometimes finding time for me isn't an easy task. Trust me, when I am doing my best, it is when I manage at least 1/2 hour a day on just me - a walk, hike, run, swim, whatever...just for you.

I found the most important part of getting going here was setting short-term, very attainable goals. You will be very surprised at how happy you feel when you achieve them.

Can't wait to see how your journey with SparkPeople goes!!!
