Hello
Trying to figure out what to eat and everything. As I am trying to eat clean and low carb. Other than that I am not doing much just cleaning and painting and watching the kids. Tomorrow my daughter graduated from high school and on June 3 my other daughter graduated middle school.. This home schooling was rough with 6 kids. Still donít know what the schools doing for the next coming year guess they let me know just before school starts. Anyway Iím glad to be here getting myself back on track..

I am a Beautiful Woman in side and out, I don't have a weight problem "I have a problem with my weight"
I love making new spark friends, so please feel free to drop me a line and say hello. Keep the spark going..

Pretty decent day so far ... Have another dr appointment later today, as I'm having some pretty concerning issues (GYN).

Still really happy with my lab results. My employer provides a benefit of an annual "birthday labs" (sometime in the month your birthday falls--it's a CBC, lipid panel and metabolic panel), and my fasting glucose dropped by 20 points. I was edging ever closer to that dreaded # for a diabetes diagnosis, and with 7 generations before me (my dad, his mother, and five further generations going back from there), I'm using what I can control, and dropping the weight (29 pounds in total so far), eating more nutritionally sound meals, and working on increasing physical activity.

That must be such a relief to have pain controlled. It must make such a difference. How are your first few days of Spark going?
Tomorrow is my monthly weigh-in and measurements with my trainer plus lower body. Last lower body I did with him took, it took 5 days for my thighs to stop hurting!

I will miss my Spark family so much! If anyone wants to keep in touch email me at

Thanks for the welcome. Great on the 100 pound loss!! That's fantastic.

I lost 65lbs about 6-7 years ago and then my daughter had a major accident that required 24 hour care. We brought her home to care for her and consumed my time of course. After a couple of years I had back surgery because I could no longer walk because of a nerve that was pinched off. Still having issues from that I had so much pain in my entire body. Found out I have RA. It has taken 3 years to finally find a medication that insurance will cover and one that works for me. So I start my journey again. Excuses over!!

I say it does feel good to be able to go for a walk and do activities again and not have pain.

I will take your advice and check out the buddies.

Again congratulations on the weight loss. Very impressive and good for you!

Hi Beachwear! Welcome! Check out "Looking for Buddies to check in with." Justme9898, David, a few others and me are good at chatting everyday. You can say anything, complain, vent, etc., and we are there for you. Spark and tracking really works. I lost over 100 pounds! I still find It amazing. Unfortunately the remaining 40 pounds or so seems forever stuck. Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you and hearing about your journey.

Good morning everyone. I just joined your group. I have been on and off spark for years and just recently came back again in January. I really need to lose this weight. I am having difficulty even losing just 10 pounds and need to figure out what I am doing wrong.

I also need a group that stays active and chat's on a daily basis to form friendships and accountability.

Hoping to get to know everyone in this group.

Our temperatures have been toasty today (I only saw mid 60's but some areas here had 70) and not more snow. We had our winter last week.

We have had light snow for most of the day (only about 2 inches on the ground. The temperature right now is 9 (and according to the weather it feels like -9) - so very cold and not fit to be outside.

We are having very cold weather here in North Texas (at least for us) For the next week, we will barely be above freezing and over the weekend, not even that - not getting above 20 (at least according to the forecast).

I have a fake mink coat like that. A friend bought hers on QVC and when I saw it, I thought it was the real thing. I found one just like it new with tags on eBay for a hundred and you can bet I snatched it. I've worn it through a half dozen winters and never fail to get compliments on it. Best of all, it is just so warm.

We'll be getting our vaccination next week. We just came out of self quarentine today after seeing DH's surgeon. (actually a NP) Every thing was fine. He doesn't have to go back unless there is a problem. & no strenuous lifting for another few weeks. We lucked out with the weather ! No rain, sleet or snow. Well only snow flurries that lasted about 5 min. once. It was windy & cold. High today was a big 24 degrees, I don't even want to know what the wind chills were !!! Glad I had my BEAR COAT on. LOL It's a coat I bought a few yrs. ago ( I paid only $29.00 on sale ~ It had been a $179. coat ! ) It's all faux fur with a big hood trimmed in fur. I'd been wanting it for several yrs. but just could not afford the price. I kept hoping it would go on sale. When I saw it for that price, after picking myself up off the floor, I scooped it right up !!! This was the perfect day for it.
I hope you all have a great weekend & continue to work towards your goals.

Remember to wear a mask, & maintain social distancing. Do it for the ones you love & care about & Yourself ! ; }

Hello every one. I hope everyone is doing well during this pandemic. I work in a hospital, and just got my second dose of the vaccine on Wednesday. So far I have had no reactions to either dose. I was very worried about getting it, but did it for my family.

Our weather has been too ratty to get out for a month but I get some walking and stair climbing in at work. My mother is nearly 91 and has been sticking close to her comfy chair. I'm concerned she's not getting enough exercise but with the weather what it is, I don't really want her outside either.

I heard from KATHYCOLLIES daughter. Here is her update on Kathy

we are doing well (most days) some days have been harder then others, and I know she finds it frustrating, that she can't just get up and go, and do the things she normally would (pre-hospital). She tires really quickly, and also finds it hard having to depend on me so much, which I don't mind. Our family doctor has been touch base with us at least weekly, sometimes more to make sure we are doing okay, and had blood work drawn this week, which all looked really great.

PT doesn't want Mom walking because "her legs aren't really strong enough, and she is a huge fall risk" but has given us other exercises to do. She does go for smaller walks (he said if she felt she had to that was okay, but he would rather she didn't) sometimes it only to my doorway, which isn't far from her bedroom. Other days its just getting up from bed/walk to the commode and back to bed (then we do her exercises in bed.

My husband and I volunteer at one of our local hospitals although we have not been in there since March. Yesterday the Volunteer Office let us know that we can get our Covid shots through the hospital, so we got our first shot this morning.
