I used to go to Whole Foods alot, but I haven't gotten to the new store yet. It just looks complicated to get too. The other one was so easy to get in and out of.

I usually shop at Giant at Festival at Riva. Sometimes I go to Safeway on Housley off of Defense Hwy, but I find that Safeway doesn't carry some of the things I like.

Eat smart. Live well.

You should get a plant. They require little, other than water, and get well over 2 feet tall, and bushy. The one I got at Whole Foods was $6.99, but it was well over 1.5 foot tall and already full. You can usually get a six pack of small ones at Home Depot or some place similar for very little. They grow quickly, and you'll have tons of basil. Plus your yard, or pot on deck in my case, will smell so nice. I'm going to try the salad tomorrow.

Thanks! emoticon

It sounds like a good shopping morning for you, Gail. I'm surprised I didn't see you around Annapolis today - or maybe I did! My kids and I went to Target and Whole Foods. I have to agree with you about Whole Foods. It's expensive. I did buy some produce, and a couple of sale items. They also have coupons on a circular at the front. Today I bought a nice big basil plant that they were selling from the sidewalk. It was huge, and already growing in full sun. It's already planted. I like my pesto! Didn't make it to Trader Joe's, but the salad sounds great. I love tomatoes, mozz and basil. What was in the dressing?

Usually, I shop at a local store called Lauers. It's in Pasadena. Sometimes I go to Giant, sometimes Shoppers in Pasadena, too. Costco has great seafood and decent prices. If I need crabmeat, I usually get it at Box N Save. Not a fancy store at all, but cheap crabmeat. I have to go to Annapolis weekly, so I try to visit a grocery or store that's different. Next week I'll definitely try Trader Joe's.

Hello AACers
I have been so motivated by this new SP adventure that I am trying to make HUGE changes in my eating & planning. I am really a meat & potatos kind of girl. I like salads but not so much fruits/vegies etc.
Now, in this economy....we are REALLY having to tighten our belts & become $$ conscious. This morning I went to 5 stores...I have never in my life done that before. Just trying to get a handle on this new way of shopping/eating & buying. I started at Shoppers which is new in Annapolis. I find them to be about the best across the board price wise. I then went to Trader Joes (Annap Mall area) who is great for specialty items & ideas... They had samples of a little salad that sold me immediately.
I bought the grape tomatoes, fresh basil & mozzarella, came home & made the vinagrette that it called for & had it for lunch...Big pat on the back for me. Usually I would have had pizza or sub for lunch. Anyway I made it & it was great. After Trader Joes I went to Whole Foods (new in Parole) all my friends were shouting about this new store...well it is gorgeous but...across the board EVERYTHING was more expensive. I walked out of there with nothing. Then to Annapolis Seafood. I am adding lots of fish as from my WW days I know that is key...they to were just extremely high. On to my usual Safeway (Edgewater) this is my favorite store so I always shop there as their sales are great. Got blueberries & mozzarella there on sale. Very interesting morning & good for me..I bought only good stuff! Where do you shop?
