Tuesday, 10.15.13!

New day already! Halfway through October! Time is sure flying. I was asked by the doctor when was the last time I had come in, while he pushed buttons on his new computer. I told him, 3 months ago, and I know because I wrote it on my calendar cuz time is flying by and I lose track of it too easily. By this time he had found what he was looking for in the computer and said, "Okay. You're right, it was 3 months ago." Then he looked at me and said, "You're losing track of something?"

"Yes, my time. It's moving too fast and it seems to speed up as I get older."

"Oh, that's normal. You're alright," he said.

No kidding, I thought!

So, I'm headed to the pool as I've had my coffee and the sun is just starting to lighten the eastern horizon, my husband is destroying things in the kitchen because he is not paying attention to what he is doing and he's wandering around, flinging his hands all over the place, what does he expect. So now, I must go make oatmeal to get the daily menu going today.

I've got several things going right now and I seem to be able to balance my days a lot better than I did when I was first released to go after the surgery and I wish I could stop thinking in terms of Before GB and After GB, but it will come, the farther I get away from it, I hope.

Right now, I'm into the food and fitness tracker. Never had problems with the Fitness tracker, but sure had problems with the Food tracker. Now I've basically got the food tracker in line and use it a bit for planning. I am also happy that someone fixed the food tracker for the diabetes program so that when you put you meals on it, you can actually print the grocery list for the week and it prints out what I put on the menu instead of the "programed meals" that I don't use. it was pretty useless before and I was glad when I discovered, by accident, that the thing had been upgraded to usefulness to those of us that don't need it as a crutch.

So now I'm done babbling and I wish you all a great day and may it be full of happiness and success for all of you. Don't forget to make time for yourselves. We all need a little self pampering here and there during the day. Just makes me feel stronger and better than five minutes earlier.

Have a great one! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wouldn't we all like to go to a ball? emoticon emoticon but I don't want to kiss a emoticon or have the emoticon run out. But maybe we all could wish on our emoticon or click our heels and be there with her? LOL
Had a great work out last night---and it really helped the sore muscles from all the steps on Saturday.
Hope everyone going to the hospital has a safe procedure and no complications.

KS - Even Cindy was surprised at going to the ball, so you can be surprised, too. Enjoy it! Where the first dress you wanted to. I have a couple that never get worn any more. Bought them for the cruise-ship thing and haven't been able to afford that since the economy hit the bottom of the crap bucket. I won't even go down that lane right now. No point!

KG - Keep us posted on your surgery. Won't worry about you, but will pray so you make it through easily and quickly. I know someone was praying for me while I was in the hospital. I will probably never know, but that's alright, too.

Lecates - keep up the fun! It makes it so much easier when we all have fun. It's perfectly alright to lighten the load with laughter. I love it.

NewTink - hope your foot is feeling better. Good luck with it and the exercise. It's difficult doing exercises without using your feet and I don't think it's as much fun, but sometimes, its all we can do.

Everyone else I missed - I'm praying you get past your issues or feel great and we all need to feel great about ourselves regardless of the issues. Sometimes its really hard to get out of bed in the morning, but if we force ourselves to just do it and get something done, it often times makes it a day that was easier than we thought it was going to be when we contemplated pulling the blanket back over our heads.

Kerry - best of luck with your surgery. It's nice to hear right away and that the surgeon is looking out for his patients so they won't have a bill. You're right - a finance meeting isn't fun.

KS-good luck with all the medical issues-hope it all goes well so you can enjoy the ball. I wouldn't want to miss that either.

I just got a call from the surgeon's office and the surgery has been moved to the hospital all the tests were done at last week. I guess the Dr was down at the new hospital which is closer to my house and discovered that all their insurance certs aren't totally done and he doesn't want his patients being stuck with a bill so he's moving it to the old hospital. I need to make a run to the pharmacy for my two prescriptions which I have to start tomorrow. Oh, such fun!! emoticon
We have a church finance meeting this evening-even more fun!!

FG - thanks but what I'm having done are pre-surgery procedures. One is an angiogram to see if there is any blockage in my arteries and if so, they will put in stints then and there. The other is an echocardiogram but from inside the throat (yuck) where they will look at the leaking valve in my heart and see if they can fix it with either yet another procedure or open heart surgery. They have already told me that the latter is too dangerous with the condition my heart is in so that will be a last resort. But for now, we go to the hospital in Toronto this Wed. for a pre-assessment for anesthetic for the procedures. We have to leave here about 5:30 am to avoid rush hour traffic in Toronto and be there for 9. That will get us there very early but leaving any later and we'll get stuck in traffic and be late. Then we go back to Toronto the following Wed,. and stay over in a hotel as one procedure is on the Thurs. at 7 am and the second on the Fri. at 10:30. Recovery from both should be short and sweet - a possible sore spot in the groin from the first and a sore throat for the second.

We were supposed to go to a banquet the Fri. night but I'm afraid I'll have to pass after having general anaesthetic as well as a sore throat. On the Sat. we are supposed to go to a Dinner and Ball and I'm hoping to be able to go to that. The tickets weren't cheap and I've never been to a ball. It's in celebration of my husband's former military Regiment's 150th birthday complete with Canada Post issuing a special stamp. I even have a long dress and jacket with a metallic scarf to go with it that still fits me. I tried it on the other day and asked my husband if it looked alright - big mistake! He said "well, it's different." Doesn't that just boost your self confidence! Now I don't know what to think - go with it or get something new that hopefully with more weight loss won't fit me down the road and I'll never probably get to wear again anyways. What does one wear?

NEWTINK, that foot issue sounds pretty annoying, but it sounds like you are doing a great job exercising anyway!

Thanks for the report about your pool buddy. I've had a couple of guys in my classes who liked to goof around and splash like kids, even in their 70s.

Thanks everyone. I'm just waiting to hear how all the tests came out and exactly when the surgery will be.

Today was church, lunch, then back to church to count money and get it deposited. After that we spent about 20 minutes with the kids' dogs for the last time. They should be home tonight and I asked my son-in-law's brother if he would check them around 9 pm and he agreed. I'm hoping to get to the pool in the morning for some water zumba or at least water moving for me. The hip really hasn't felt too bad today.

Hi, Everyone!

I hope all of you are doing well. There's so much going on with everyone it's hard to keep up.

KG - hope your surgery goes well. I know how hard it is to lay around doing nothing while things heal good enough to be able to go back to doing something, but you have to do that first.

Now I've lost track of who and what and I'm sorry, but I wish you all well and a fantastic finish to all your short=term goals right now.

Have a great one!

Candice, so nice to get those compliments---and sounds like you are doing really well there.
Yikes to more work on that foot---ouch!
Too bad Ryka no longer makes those water shoes---I do like their sneakers and they are my walking shoes.
Got in over 17000 steps yesterday with my walk, then shopping twice at Walmart and also having to go to another grocery store to find an item I needed. Legs kind of screamed at me last night though. Nothing much planned except for church today---hoping maybe dh would like to go see Gravity---he got plenty of sleep yesterday.

emoticon FG sorry about your fall but it seems like a good trip any way .

Kerry I hope the surgery goes well for you . You are strong and once you can get back into the water it will help with the recovery.

Candice sounds like a good weekend for you. I am glad that you are taking a lazy day on Monday as you will need it. emoticon on the awesome report from the Jack .

Lecates all that rain sucks for sure . I hope it clears up for you before long. I agree that the water does wonders for pt issues. I know it did for my ankle.

Lynn are you sure the medicines mixed with others didnt cause the drunk feeling you were having ? I hope you are feeling better now.

Mabell i hate ordering shoes for the same reason , good luck in finding some new ones.

I am restricted from walking for exercise right now. The core is back in the bottom of my foot. This thing has been removed now 4 times surgically when it gets to bad to deal with. We are not there yet but they will have to shave my heel down to make it bearable again. I got in a good workout yesterday using the row machine for 5000 meters and then 60 minutes in the pool . Today I wont go to the pool as they want my feet to completely dehydrate before the do the cutting on it. I spoke with Helen yesterday finally and she says that no she didnt leave the pool because of him but that she has been extremely busy with her charity work. We discussed the man and the last episode and she says that if he starts again she will report him to the front desk. Honestly he is a 10 year old boy trapped in a 50 something year old body as he only gets into the pt pool when Helen is in it the rest of the time he just goes to hot tub. I think he has a crush on her and this is his irritating way of saying i like you.

Hope everyone has a great day !!!

Good Morning, Water Babies ~ ~

Hope this finds all of you ready to go get 'em today. I think I was up at 3:23 this morning, so well on the way to make today my day. Not much planned outside church. Have routine house chores and then the rest of the day will be ME time. Going to organize my desk and get rid of a whole bunch of stuff, and going to organize the book shelves and get the unused books ready for the DAV.

Don't know how many of you do water aerobics or have seen this already, but I found this to be a good one on wearing shoes when doing WA.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-1czz3ujhY

I wear shoes because of my neuropathy. With my feet being numb, I don't want to take the chance of stepping on something. Besides, I feel more aerobic and stable with shoes on. It is surpriseing how difficult it is to find good water tennies. I have some fantastic Ryka shoes right now, but they are on their last leg. And Ryka does not make this particular water shoe anymore. I hate to order them for fear they won't fit or can't get them on.

this is one very pooped person checking in. I am in the hotel have had diner and my showr and am relaxing. I am SO tired. * students, a lot of heat, a lot of time on my feet on a concrete floor. But I made my goal for my number of steps today. yesterday was a LONG day, I didnt get everything set up till almost 7 pm, Other people didnt have it together, which delayed me. Instead of going to diner with everyone, I stayed at the hotel and vegged in the pool, got a good 20-30 minute work out in there, and then had a nice chef salad in my room.

I am doing pretty good with keeping my food under control while traveling so far. Lunch during class today was a nice salad with chicken and fresh fruit, same for tomorrow. They surprised us in the late afternoon with frozen fruit pops, I had a peach one for 70 calories, and it was DIVINE in all that heat.

Tomorrow is teaching till 5 pm them taking all the equipment down, loading the van and traveling home... gonna be a the longest and most tiring day. I plan to collapse at home on monday, dont know if I will make my morning work out or not.

But the good thing is.. a lot of the gals have not seen me in a while, and they were all shocked at how well I am walking, how bright my face is, and 2 thought I had lost 30 lbs not less than 10. that made me feel great!!! I have lost quite a few inches though, swapping muscle for fat.

It is bright and sunny here in NE Florida today with temps probably inching up to 80. I got the front yard mowed, laundry started, some Halloween decorations up and I'm now all showered waiting for my husband to get lunch. I'll get him to hang a couple of Halloween flags outside later today. I've discovered that with my new washing machine what was normally two loads can often be done all at one time.

Happy Thanksgiving a couple days early. Monday is out Columbus Day but not many people get the day off. Used to be the kids got out of school but not this year. Do take care of that heart-the kidneys are usually the first thing heart disease takes out which is the reason for all that water retention. The water retention is quite often one of the first signs of heart disease although I think too often doctors ignore that thinking people just eat too much sodium.

My surgery is scheduled for the October 22 so I have 10 days to get through before then.

Kerry - good luck with your surgery - we'll be think of you. I go for a pre-assessment next Wed. at a Toronto hospital as I'm having 2 heart procedures done the following week - not surgery yet. I saw the kidney specialist today in a follow-up appt for some trouble I had in the spring and summer. He says things are OK but wants to see me again in 3 months. I told him I had hoped I wouldn't have to see him again (nothing personal but I've got so many specialists!) and he looked at me with pity in his eyes and said "really, not only do I want to see you in 3 months but if you need anything in the meantime, you call and tell the girls up front when they question your calling for an earlier appt. that I told you to. We have to keep an eye on someone like you with serious heart and kidney disease." I was so taken aback at the offer of getting an extra appointment if I needed one that the phrase "serious kidney disease" didn't register until much later after the appt. I know they don't function perfectly because of my heart but geez what's next. One relief was that he approved me taking a single pill of one very effective drug for my heart failure when it occurs as long as I get a blood test within a couple of days later as it is very hard on the kidneys. It should shorten a 2 week failure to about a week and usually knocks 6-7 lbs. of water off overnight. But even better ...

It was a beautiful fall day here today - quite cool this am but was warm enough to take off the morning jacket by noon hour. I'm hoping the long weekend is the same - Monday is our Thanksgiving here in Canada. My DH and I will be going to my DD's house for turkey and all the trimmings. Only 5 of us this year so I hope she doesn't go overboard. Everyone but me loves pumpkin pie so I'm not worried about being tempted to have dessert! Have a good one everyone.

We had some rain from Karen here in NE Florida with a little flooding at the beach but what can you expect at sea level?!! We didn't have any flooding in our area.

Well, today I finally got everything done for the pre-op. I got to the hospital about 7:40 and got signed in so I was the first one called back. Did the blood draw, UA, EKG, MRSA swap and then over to another building for a chest x-ray. Now it's just a waiting game to make sure everything came back in good shape. I already know the EKG was good but nothing else. We have a week and a half before surgery so I want to go down and actually check out the new hospital so I will know where to go when I get there.

FG, actually, I am getting the remnants of Karen up here in MD---it is just hanging off shore and giving us lots of rain and some wind because of a stalled front.

Lecates - I was also glad I didn't break anything, but I think I was nearly sitting on the steep hills that were covered by a thick layer of soft dirt over some rocks and since I nearly sat down the first time, I didn't run the risk of breaking anything, except my back, but a couple of strong-exposed tree roots helped cradle me there and on the other hill, I spun around, which is probably what hurt my knee! But self-preservation won over intellegence! Anyway, landed on my knees in soft dirt over rocks and it happened to be thick enough dirt that I didn't really feel the rocks. When I finally got on my knees, I found a rock about the size of a softball that split into 3 sections like a loaf of bread. Someone said it was shale, but I don't know what it was. I looked like a small glob of dirty dough when I put it back together, but it split so nicely, I wanted to keep it - I like weird rocks I find. However, I wasn't going to get that think in my suitcase and wasn't going to spend the money to mail it home, either. So I left it there on the side of the path arranged like a loaf of bread as an interest to someone else that likes weird rocks and things.

CKing-Pal - Melbourne? Florida or Australia? You probably posted where you are from at some point, but I wasn't around then so didn't dig far enough down to find it. Australia is a place I want to go someday, Great job on the PT and feeling fit feels so good. Sometimes we have to go slow on the PT or physical fitness routines, but when everything seems to work properly, it feels good to do it as fast as best.

KS - bruises are nearly gone - well they don't hurt now. Thanks for the well-wishing. Hope your doctor's appointment was an easy and good one.

KG - Water Aerobics! How I missed them! I looked at a winterized pool everyday and could not use it. No heat and it was covered with a tarp that had rainwater on the top of it with a mess of leaves. Hope you enjoyed your WA! Did you get Karen? We watched the weather report daily and saw it was far enough North that we would not have to worry about it and it's good because our repaired leak is worse and the guy didn't come back to fix what he messed up! Hope we don't have to get a new roof now!

Have a great one, all! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

C-king - sounds like a busy weekend ahead of you. Give yourself a break and don't worry about posting unless you need to - we are here is you need us. Great luck with the belts. Have a good one. I'll be busy today babysitting and going to a doctor's appointment - joy o joy (seriously for the first and not so for the second, lol).

welcome back FG.

Yesterday was busy for me. I sneaked in an extra trip to the pool. I will miss today because I will be running around, then traveling to Melbourne, and setting up all the equipment for the class this weekend. I ran errands with HUbby , out to diner, and physical therapy.. whew!!!

When I finish my coffee, I need to finish packing clothes, then head to the studio and load the van. At 10 am I have to go pick up more equipment from the guild. I cant set up in melbourne till after 2. Praying we dont have any issues because it will be cutting it close to be able to get parts etc from a welding supply.

The hotel has a pool, so I am taking my noodle with me. I am also packing a cooler with some healthier food choices. I also get to take a hydrofit belt with me too. The last medium size one had the web belt break on it yesterday while I was at the Y. I showed it to the life guard and she was going to throw it away, NOOOOOOOOOOO. I told her it was easy to repair, she said no they threw them away. And she gave it to me. Silly me said no... but I will take it home and fix it. I have the 2 inch web. One fo the gals in class used that belt and all the others are way to big for her. she is gonna be upset today that its gone, but really happy when I bring it back on monday.

Meanwhile at therapy I was telling Jack, my therapist, that I was nuts not to have just accepted the belt and kept it. He then says.. you know I have an extra one at home, I will look for it and give it to you. I was stunned.. it was his moms. Isnt that just the sweetest? and I think its also life's reward for me doing a good deed as well, and not being selfish. Jack is also ready to step up the intensity of my therapy next week. He told me yesterday he never would have imagined that I would be where I am right now. When I came in I had so many problems, but working in the water so diligently has brought me so far so fast. YES!!!!!!!!!!

have a great weekend everyone. I am taking my computer, but not sure I will have wifi and be able to post till monday.

Candice and her dog Leah.

FG we were just asking after you and several of us thought you were still on vacation. Glad you are home safe and sound - well almost sound save for the bruises.

Other than falling that sounds like a great trip, FG!!

I did get to the gym for an hour of water aerobics and then had lunch with my old workout buddy-that was nice.

I'm back from the vacation and all the hiking and I am sore in many places. I can remember two times of slipping and rolling down hills, feeling like I had kissed Mother Earth and hoping I had not injured anything. I hadn't, but I did get bruised. It was fun and I'd do it again even though my body is still screaming nasty things at me. I'm not as young as I used to be and not having gone hiking anywhere except for a mile walk on the flattest ground in the US every day, but I had fun and enjoyed it so much.

I got to see so many things and as soon as I can figure out how to get the pictures from my DHs I-Phone to my computer, I can upload them on a Blog and show off where I went. TG! Nobody took pictures of me laying on the ground.

The leaves were beautiful and I feel sorry for the leaf peepers that haven't been there yet because we saw them bloom in color the day after we got there and then start falling with the heavy rain and wind storm two days later. By the time we left, a good deal of them had fallen and a lot of trees were bare already. The leaves that were left were mostly yellow, which is what happens to the leaves in Western Washington, they go from green to dark brown, with maybe a couple minutes of yellow in between and then they fall off. It doesn't get cold enough at night for the leaves to turn beautiful colors in W WA.

So I'm back trying to catch up on the laundry, putting things away, and getting back to normal again. Like eating properly. We did pretty good as we cooked some of the meals and stayed pretty healthy eating, but a couple of runs to the ice cream joint that is getting ready to close for the season (I got frozen yogurt instead of ice cream), but that added to the weight increase. Yesterday was one of loafing on airplanes (if you can call todays sky-travel loafing at all) and I was so glad to get off the flights, know I was back at Tampa and I'd be home in about an hour.

Ha! It took us two hours to get home from the airport because when we came out of the parking place, we discovered we had not been through that area in months and it was totally different. We ended up in Clearwater, then went south through St. Pete before we got back to I-275 going home. By the time we wove our way through dark deserted streets (TG for gps) we finally made it to some place we knew and got home but we had wasted a good deal of time. 0230 am is not a good time to get home and have to unload the car and make sure we got the perishables into the refrigerator.

Today, I am spending catching up on laundry, putting things away, catching up on SP and other computer work and feeling like I need to go sleep a little more. I was up at 0730 this morning which meant I got 5 hours of sleep.

Need to make some phone calls so need to get going again. I hope everyone is fine. I'll catch up with you guys when my brain is functioning properly again.

Have a great one!

Kerry - don't you hate how medical people can keep you waiting for hours bu complain bitterly if you are five minutes late or even just on time. Good luck on Fri.

Lecates - If your headache is from all the rain, perhaps it is your sinuses - the humid air around the pool (if an indoor one) would really aggravate that. I hope it soon subsides.

Newtink - good for you for following up with Helen. More people need to step forward and since too have been bothered by him, it will carry more weight if the 2 of you report this guy. I haven't heard from FG either but this may well be when she was going up north.

I didn't make it to the pool to do my exercises today and had to settle for my pedal machine. I still don't want to introduce my sore finger to the Chlorine. I'm really spacey today like I took too much of a drug so I won't be driving myself anywhere anyway. The only thing I've taken that was different than what I take daily is a Tylonol Cold for night before bedtime and a daytime one this morning and that shouldn't do this. My sugar is where it should be too so it must just be the cold on top of everything else. My husband told me at lunch he'd get off an hour early and come home and get me to my dental appt at 4 so fortunately I won't miss that. I'll be glad to have the work done on my teeth for awhile - just a cleaning due after this.

I hope everyone has a great week now that we're over hump day.

I hope you are able to contact Helen. Even if she does report it herself, you may want to mention to someone in charge that he is making people uncomfortable, so they can keep an eye on him. Who knows how many others he's scared off...

Lecates sorry for your headache and i hope it is better today .

Kerry all your appointments wore me out so i can see how you wouldnt get any fitness that was enough for one day.

Lynn sorry about your finger and cold. Hope you and husband feel better soon.

I still have not heard from Helen but i am going to her house soon if i don't hear from her. I have encouraged her to report the man and if she continues to refuse to then i will. I sent a message to the spark tracker support team asking if it would link up with fitlynx and they replied no but it is the same software. So I replied to them then they should get with fitlynx and see if they cant work together. of course they will pass on my suggestion lol. but i will also contact fitlynx and suggest the same thing to them. Today should be a quiet day. Not much going on.

Has anyone talked to FG ? Is she on vacation now i forget the dates of that

I had a headache yesterday from that 7th period class from Hades---was easing up a bit so I went to water aerobics but left after we finished the deep end stuff as the headache was getting worse---but I got in a good 45 minutes. Really rainy here so thinking that might have been adding to the headache.

No classes of any kind for me today. I had 3 appointments scheduled for today by the surgeon's office-a check there with the PA, lab work across the street at the hospital and a class right down the hall from that. Surgeon's office ran 2 hours late so I missed the lab which had to be rescheduled for early Friday morning. Maybe I'll get into the pool for tomorrow's water class since I may well miss Friday's depending on how slow they are with everything that needs to be done.

Hi everyone: It's been awhile since I was on this thread. I'm not sure how I missed coming on for so long but I've been reading the posts and trying to catch up. I hope those of you that are unhappy with some private group and a challenge report that to Spark - no point in us grumbling among ourselves - doesn't get us anywhere - complaining may not either but at least you know you tried. I also hope that that guy who bothered that woman is reported and kicked out of the pool!

I wasn't able to do my aquafit on Sun. because my grandson came for a sleepover. I injured a finger on one hand on Sat. and didn't go do my usual aquatift exercises on Tues. either afraid the water would hurt the finger. I was peeling an apple and the new veggie peeler is very sharp. It slid right off the apple and up my knuckle taking a big chunk of skin and whatever with it. It left a hole about the size of the end of my middle finger and no way to pull the skin together. I've kept it covered and put Polysporin on it hoping I don't get infection being Diabetic and also because I have a pre-assessment next week and 2 heart procedures the following week. I don't want anything to get in the way of that. Of course, my husband came home with what looks like the flu tonight and this evening I have the makings of a fine cold - I have my fingers crossed it is a passing thing!

Hope everyone is well. Time for me to get out my pedalling machine and get to it - I've had absolutely no exercise today at all.

I agree---he should be banned from coming to the pool---actually, he could be charged with molestation if you really wanted to push the issue---and then the pool place could be named in the case and charges could possibly be put against them for allowing him to continue to attend. I probably would have slapped him silly! LOL---or maybe, better yet, held him under!

NEWTINK, since you know who he is (or can recognize him), please let the Aquatic Director or a lifeguard supervisor know right away (and let them know you'll point him out to them. That behavior is totally unacceptable. Yikes!

I am not sure if she reported him or not , Helen is not scared of the water but she cant swim. We enjoy talking during our workouts but we don't horseplay around. He likes to splash her and is not beyond putting his hands on her which makes her very nervous. He tried that crap once with me but i am a strong swimmer and well lets just say he didnt like it when it he got back what he was giving. He is a jerk, I hope she doesnt give up the water either.

At my gym there is a system called fitlynx. This is a program that tracks your workout through a computer system when you are on the weight machines and you can add your cardio manually. Any way the offer something called the Pebble. It is identical in every way to the new tracker from spark people. It cost the same amount of money, I think if i am going to get one then i will get that one because it will sync up directly with my gym program. The challenges are more individual like using your steps to climb the empire state building . I am not complaining but there were a couple of things about the spark one that seemed a little wrong to me . One the private team seems to me that is a little to much secrecy for a new product. I don't like that some of the Spark people elite received them for free. Like someone else already stated I have my own device, i do nike + on my ipod and it tracks everything from steps to miles to calories just like the others do so yes it is bit discouraging not to be able to participate. Ok well that is my rant for today .

I am glad to see everyone is back at it and doing good.

Welcome Mabell and congrats to Jilley!!!!!

no water for me today. I am still messing about with the spark tracker, and went to the gym to calibrate it. I walked exactly a half mile on the treadmill and took it off my shoe. Then did the recumbent bike and manually entered it later. I still think I am going to send it back, but I may as well mess with it a bit first. I have 3 more weeks.

Saw my physical therapist today. I have shin splints in my left leg from walking on the treadmill. argh. but the good news is, thats the leg I get toe drop with, and the muscles ARE working. He suggested I stop with the treadmill and just walk in my neighborhood with the dog, stop and start, change pace etc.

going to hit the pool early tomorrow try to get in a half hour or more before class starts.

Hi! and Welcome! I had a good class today-there were 23 of us in class. I had my second Dr appointment for the week-only one more tomorrow but that one will be most of the day with labs, xrays, and classes. Better remember to pack a lunch!

Hello Ladies ~ ~

Accidentally found this team and thought it would be just the thing for me. I do water aerobics 3-4 times a week. I do one hour on my own before class, then an hour class, and a 45-60 min of jogging after class. We figured out how many laps it would take to make a mile in the pool. It takes 105 laps (back and forth = 1 lap). I have clicked off the laps and timed myself. I can get a mile in 45 mins (I'm a little slow). I have not been able to go to the pool for two weeks now. I have an open wound on the end of my big toe and can't get in the water. Sure miss it.

I find the conversation on the SAT very interesting. I have been waivering on whether or not to get one. The only purpose for me to have it is to measure my WA activities. I have an Omron pedometer that is very accurate but not waterproof. If the SAT is only good on land, I don't need it.

I want to go read some posts now and try to get acquainted with you all.
